Scrabble Free for Android Allows Play Versus iPhone

Free Scrabble on Android Screenshots

Scrabble is arguably one of the coolest board games in the world. I grew up playing Scrabble (and Boggle!) with the entire family on a regular basis, and even though I haven’t touched a real Scrabble board in ages, the thought of playing the game still fills me with excitement. There is, of course, the option of playing Scrabble on electronic devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and other similar gadgets. However, this option usually does not compare to the experience of the real thing. For one, you normally need two very devices in order to have a fulfilling game. Now what to do if you have an iPhone and Read more »

5 Minutes to Kill Yourself: Airport Edition

5 Minutes to Kill Yourself: Airport Edition

Upon reflection, 5 Minutes to Kill Yourself: Airport Edition is pretty close to the realities of airport check in sequences. Long lines, bad food, and umm… machine gun nests are some of the staples of your typical airport impediments that want to get you killed. Surprisingly, there are absolutely no TSA pat-down references. For the unfamiliar, the “5 Minutes to Kill Yourself” series is a franchise of flash games from Adult Swim where the main goal is to inflict as much damage to your toon as possible, killing yourself within 5 minutes. The first version was set in an office; killing yourself with paper cutters, staplers, and copying machines was Read more »

iYip for iPhone Featuring the Sesame Street Martians

iYip by Sesame Street

Remember those adorable Martians from Sesame Street? The ones that go yip yip yip yip… Well, they are back on Earth and have spent some time in the studio to make sure that iPhone users will never miss those Martian sounds anymore. More than yip yip yip, the soundboard that the Sesame Street Martians (dubbed iYip for iPhone) includes a wide array of words and phrases that they have learned while Earth-side. (Some people would say all the yipping gets on their nerves after a while, but I have to respectfully disagree.) Using iYip for iPhone, you can hear the Martians say “yip”, “nope”, and even “pass the salt”! Use Read more »

DCUO Gets its Green Lantern On

DCUO Gets its Green Lantern On

Sony Online Entertainment has been updating DC Universe Online with character-based and seasonal missions since it was first launched in January. (See our extensive review here.) These updates have been fun but left very little impact on the game’s online world. That’s set to change this Summer with the release of “Fight for the Light,” a $10 DLC pack that answers many a fan’s desperate desire: to play as a Green Lantern. Green Lantern Hal Jordan has always been part of DCUO, but players have never had access to his power set, having to settle for battling alongside this NPC in a few level-grinding missions. “Fight for the Light” is Read more »

Dog Days – Review

Dog Days – Review

Dog Days is a 13 episode anime produced by Aniplex and Seven Arcs, and aired during the Spring 2011 season. As you can probably guess from the title, Dog Days is an anime that involves dogs, but they’re not your ordinary dogs. The story is about a boy named Cinque who is dragged into the kingdom of Biscotti in the magical world of Fronyaldo. He was summoned by Princess Millhiore in order to act as the kingdom’s saviour in a war against the neighbouring kingdom of Galette. After his arrival, however, Cinque notices something strange: all of the citizens of Biscotti have dog ears and tails. Indeed, the main selling Read more »

10 Game of Thrones Theme Song Covers

Game of Thrones Ned Stark

The first season of Game of Thrones may have come and gone, leaving us waiting in anticipation for the second season, but it does not mean we can’t have our regular dose of the Starks, the Lannisters, the Targaryens, and every other family in the story. I am going back to re-reading the books (as soon as I get the darned ebooks loaded) – which many other people are doing. Here’s something a little more fun, though – scouring the web for noteworthy Game of Thrones Theme Song covers. After that heavy metal version I wrote about a couple of months back, it seems that there is more to be Read more »
