It looks like the success of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter hasn’t gone unnoticed by others in Hollywood, because now James Cameron is teaming up with Disney to bring Pandora, the alien world from Avatar, to life at Walt Disney World in Florida. Read more »

In Defence Of The Amalgam
With the stunning sales figures of many of the DCnU first issues, minds no doubt turn towards how the industry can sustain this momentum? As I have said before, I have doubts as to how many of these sales are likely to be new readers, although I imagine by far the largest segment of these extra sales will be returning readers. Unfortunately, there are no metrics available to either support or refute my assumption, so I will just have to resort back to my experience in the Nineties as a comics’ store manager, and join the ranks of self-appointed experts. One of the major comics events of the Nineties was Read more »
Zombiecalypse, Icelandic Version
Till I actually heard the audiobook version of World War Z, I never thought anything about the book. If I had an irrelevant bucket, it would have been placed there. A few minutes into the audiobook, though, I was hooked. Big time. Today, I was reminded of the story when I heard about this book called Zombie Iceland. If my memory serves me well, Iceland was not a location covered in World War Z. However, if and when the zombiecalypse does happen, I am pretty sure the country will not be spared. They may not bear the brunt of the problem with their climate and all, but they will surely Read more »

The Only Superhero Color Guide You’ll Ever Need
I have never been a big comic book reader, and I am grateful for the movies that have brought superheroes to life for me. I know, hardcore comic book fans are probably shaking their heads right about now. Recently, though, there seems to be a rising interest in comic books (the kind you can download) in my circle, and I think it is only a matter of time till I actually get around to burying my nose in comics. This girl has a lot to learn when it comes to superheroes, and what better way to start than to become familiar with their colors? Colors are important, not only in Read more »
Sure Wish This Avengers Game Hadn’t Been Cancelled
Based on this leaked in-game footage, it looks like a studio owned by THQ was hip-deep in development on a video game tie-in to next summer’s The Avengers movie. But the game has been seemingly canceled since THQ shuttered the studio last month. Sad news made all the sadder once you watch the awesomeness on display in the video. Read more »

Sign a Contract with Kyubey
Since Puella Magi Madoka Magica aired, its mascot character, Kyubey, has been a big hit with anime fans around the world. This little alien cat-thing looks cute and adorable, but he’s actually a devilishly sly dealer of magical girl powers and miracles. Of course, Kyubey doesn’t just give out magical powers and miracles for free; everything comes with a price, and when fans found out what the price was, Kyubey’s status in the anime world was upgraded to one of a demon. With such a controversial character, it was only a matter of time before companies found a way to sell people their very own Kyubeys. Whether you want one Read more »
