Despite the high-res textures, character models with way more polygons, and all kinds of other upgraded technology on display in this trailer, there’s still something decidedly retro about the look and feel of Halo: Anniversary.
Take a look at the launch trailer for Halo: Anniversary and tell me you don’t feel the same. They can throw all the state-of-the-art tech in the world into the original Halo, but it still plays like the original Halo. Which I suppose is the point. I mean, let’s face it: the first Halo is sacred among the Xbox faithful, and you don’t screw around with it unless you have a death wish.
That said, fans of the series will find more to enjoy in this remastered game than just enhanced bells and whistles. Seven of Halo’s all-time most popular multiplayer maps are included, along with all of the latest Xbox Live features that have been added to the most recent games in the series. There are new achievements, new challenges, new online co-op play, and even additional story material to find within the game world.
