One of the hottest names in Jpop right now is an all-female group known as AKB48. As their name suggests, they should have 48 members, though this can change as old members “graduate” and younger members are added. The success of AKB48 in both the music and modeling industries, has spurred on its creator, Akimoto Yasushi, to create SKE48, SDN48, NMB48, JKT48, and HKT48. For the past several years we’ve seen concept cars rolled out by the Americans, Europeans and Japanese. From designs inspired by the Batmobile and Tron, these cars embodied the “sleek” design of the future making me wonder how every civilian will be driving a car that looks like something straight out from a movie.
