A Minecraft landscape made real via Mineways & a 3D printer

We’ve already seen how Minecraft can become real with the help of LEGO bricks. Now comes another way to bring your Minecraft creations into the real world: 3D printers. And anyone with a little know-how and some extra cash lying around can do it.

A man named Eric Haines has created a piece of software called Mineways, which allows you to export anything you’ve created in Minecraft into a 3D model with its own textures. You can then send this file to a 3D printing service, which will use its 3D printers to create a real-world model of your Minecraft creation.

Pricing for 3D printing services varies, but you can expect to spend upwards of several hundred dollars for an entire landscape, or significantly less for smaller items.
