Fans of the school parody anime Seitokai no Ichizon (Student Council’s Descretion) are no doubt wondering if anything will happen with the series since the first season ended in 2009. While Dragon Magazine did mention that there would be more Seitokai no Ichizon anime last year, news on the release date and whether it would get an OVA, second season, or movie was non-existent.
Earlier this year, however, news about a Seitokai no Ichizon project finally surfaced. As detailed on the official website, the Seitokai no Ichizon and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai light novels will be getting a crossover. The crossovers will come in two parts: one story written by Hirasaka Yomi (author of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai), and another story written by Aoi Sekina (author of Seitokai no Ichizon). Hirasaka Yomi’s story will be included in Dragon Magazine’s May issue, which comes out today, while Aoi Sekina’s story will be included in the Comic Alive June issue being released on April 27.
Those of you who were expecting a bit more don’t have to worry, details of the next Seitokai ni Ichizon anime project have finally been announced. According to the latest issue of Dragon Magazine (containing the first Seitokai no Ichizon x Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai crossover), the series will get a second season. What’s more, the series will be placed under new direction and production. The original Seitokai no Ichizon series was directed by Takuya Satou (Steins;Gate, NieA Under 7, Ichigo Mashimaro) and produced by Studio Deen (Fate Stay Night, Hakuouki, Read or Die). The new season will be directed by Kenichi Imaizumi (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) and produced by AIC (Ah! My Goddess, Seto no Hanayome, Tenchi Muyo!).
There is currently no air date set for the new season yet, but now that some of the staff has been confirmed, it won’t be long before fans get to see more of Ken and the girls of Hekiyou Gakuen’s student council.
