Today Capcom officially announced the development of Lost Planet 3 for an early 2013 release. Check out the first trailer and screens inside.
In the new title, Capcom says players can expect even harsher environments than those experienced in the first two Lost Planet games. You play as a utility rig pilot named Jim, who’s left Earth for E.D.N. III, where he finds some dangerous — but potentially lucrative — work. His job will send Jim through hostile environments and unpredictable climates while fighting the Akrid creatures that threaten his survival. The single-player game includes third-person ground level battles and first-person “utility rig action,” along with a storyline that promises to reveal longstanding secrets that have been posed throughout the series. Multiplayer will have numerous modes of play, but Capcom is keeping quiet on them for now.
Capcom is planning to publish Lost Planet 3 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2013. (Conspicuously absent: Wii U.)
