Amazon has just entered the free-to-play game race, with its own service called Game Connect. The idea is to help players find free and MMO games, and it even comes with its own Amazon-powered reward system.

As more and more developers jump on the free-to-play bandwagon, Amazon has made a move to be a new leader in this particular play space. It’s worth noting that none of Amazon’s Game Connect titles are exclusives. At least, not yet. But it doesn’t hurt that they already have a popular online store where one can buy everything in the known universe. Amazon is leveraging this existing infrastructure by using it to make it easy for gamers to unlock rewards, as well as simplifying the process of buying in-game items.

Among the launch titles available on Game Connect: World of Tanks, Pandora Saga, Super Monday Night Combat, and Battlestar Galactica Online. Amazon expects this catalog to grow rapidly, because developers will find that Game Connect is easy to integrate/port their online titles to, a process that can be done at amazon.com/gameconnect/developers.
