Ouya, the $99 Android-based TV console, seems to gain more ground every day. In addition to its first exclusive game, Ouya today announced that OnLive is coming to the party.
Just announced today, OnLive will bring its entire catalog of console games to Ouya, where gamers will be able to play on-demand games via the cloud. In keeping with Ouya’s “free-to-play or free demo” philosophy, almost every game in OnLive’s library will have “instant demos” available to play. These demos typically add up to about thirty minutes of free playtime. The OnLive app is expected to be available at Ouya’s launch.
This news comes on the heels of the recent announcement of Ouya’s very first exclusive game: prequel episodes to buzz-heavy game Human Element. Robotoki’s premiere title is characterized by a game world that’s shared between consoles and portable devices, but offers a different game experience to each. With the game not expected to hit until 2015, Robotoki decided to give a taste to early adopters of Ouya when it launches next year. The main game, you see, is set 35 years after a zombie apocalypse ravages the earth; the Ouya prequel episodes will be set in the midst of and the days and years immediately after the apocalypse.
Also today, Ouya showed off a full view of the console’s game controller for the first time.
