Hyundai’s Zombie-Proof Car: Zombie Survival Machine

It was not raining when Noah built the ark. We have not seen a single zombie yet, but Hyundai’s already making preparations. And when the zombiecalypse does happen, we’ll see who will be laughing then.

By now, you’ve probably seen the season 3 trailer of The Walking Dead, and if you’re anything like me, your zombie fixation is at a high right now. Just in case you haven’t seen it, or you want to see it again, here’s the trailer.

Going back to the zombie-proof car…

Hyundai has certainly racked up geek cred with this creation, but we cannot discount the hand of Robert Kirkman. The genius behind The Walking Dead comic books teamed up with the Korean car maker, and they showed off the Zombie Survival Machine, which is what they have called the car.

One thing is for sure: that is one big bad a$$ vehicle. It may not live up to the standards of sleek sports cars, but come the zombiecalypse, I think this monster will serve you better.

Zombie Survival Machine

The Zombie Survival Machine was designed by Kirkman himself, but the car was fabricated by Design Craft. I’ve never heard of them, but they certainly got their name out there with this creation.

For car enthusiasts, I am sure you’re wondering what Hyundai car was used as a base. Well, believe it or not, the Zombie Survival Machine is actually is a Hyundai Elantra Coupe.

What makes the car fit for the zombiecalypse?

You can hardly miss the front plow with spikes – perfect for running over a horde of undead. Then there are the armored window coverings. Add to that all-terrain tires with spikes, a roof hatch (you cannot NOT stick your upper half body to shoot the walkers after all), and a trunk stuffed to the brim with all sorts of weapons – you’re all set.

Here’s more to get you all worked up.
