That is not an exaggeration. I’m actually willing to bet my week’s pay check that your jaw will drop (or something like that) once you see what Fay Helfer has done with some Game of Thrones characters.
The first time I laid my eyes on her work, all I could think of was “Oh my God. That’s beautiful!”
I’ve always been partial to the Mother of Dragons, but this rendition beats all the others that I have seen.
And, Jon Snow may know nothing, but he sure looks as if he knows something in this piece.
The dark circle under his eye gives him more character, although one can be cynical about it and just say he got a whopping from Ygritte.
Love her or hate her, Cersei is one of the richest characters in the series.
I think that this artwork captures her many sides. I don’t want to spoil your fun if you have not read the last book, Dance With Dragons, but this drawing blends perfectly with the images in my head after reading what Cersei went through.
Of course, we can’t leave out Tyrion, who seems to be the most popular character from the series, thanks to HBO’s show.
I think he looks a tad too serious here, but he sure has earned the right to look morose whenever he wants to!
So how does Fay Helfer create these astounding pieces? It’s called pyrography, the art of writing with fire. How apt for Daenerys, yes? In pyrography, the artist uses a heated point to decorate wood or other materials.
Aside from the images shown above, Fay also has a Game of Thrones board. Are you ready for another round of wow?
What did I tell you?
