There’s a reason I usually mumble “G’morning” upon waking up and encountering people while I am still on my first cup of coffee. I don’t want to be rude, but I don’t want to untruthful either. Even the thought of a nice breakfast is not enough to make me all perky and cheerful in the first hour of waking.
Then again, if I had this baby in the kitchen, I might just enough of a kick in the morning. Or any time of the day for that matter!
People tinkering with their old consoles is not new (unrelated: check out this wonderful Nintendo Controller coffee table), but this is the first time I’ve seen a fully functional toaster that kicks butt like this NES toaster does! I think the only thing that might give the NES toaster a run for its money is the Cylon toaster that Sheldon Cooper has.
Whether you believe it or not, this NES toaster can make waking up a tad more pleasant, simply because you have a cool toaster to play with. I am not sure how it was made, but I do know the creator is a guy who calls himself MyBurningEyes on deviantART. He is a graphic designer by profession, but I suppose he knows more than a little DIY to insert some coils and controllers in the NES case…
And since Nintendo is officially saying bye-bye to the good old Wii, I suppose we’ll be seeing similar DIY projects with the Wii in the near future? I wonder what I can do with mine after it gasps its last breath? Any ideas?

This is not a real toaster. It’s just a rendered image.
