Halo Live Action Series Starts Right Here, Right Now

Microsoft’s big-budget, live action series made to promote Halo 4 debuts today, and you can watch it right after the jump.

Over on Machinima, the YouTube channel devoted to all things video games, the first part of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn has gone live, and I’ve embedded it above. The series leads into the events of Halo 4 by flashing back to the early days of a main character from the new trilogy named Thomas Lasky. Lasky’s time at the UNSC academy was turbulent, to say the least, but in his darkest hour, at the beginning of the Human/Covenant War, the young cadet finds inspiration from Master Chief himself.

Here’s Microsoft’s logline for the first episode:

Hastati Squad, the newest batch of freshman cadets at the UNSC’s Corbulo Academy of Military Science, pays the price for cadet Thomas Lasky’s tactics.

The remaining parts will debut periodically up until Halo 4 lands in stores on November 6th. Microsoft is expected to make the series available to purchase on home video as a feature-length movie after its multi-part showing on the web is complete.
