Moleskine on Demand

I’ve always thought that Moleskine products are overrated, but I do admit to having bought a couple of them – as gifts, mind you. While I think some of their designs are pretty cool, I just don’t feel like spending that kind of money on a notebook. Especially now that I rarely use pen and paper.

Still, the idea of being able to create your own Moleskine product is attractive. And it’s not just any ordinary Moleskine notebook at that. With Moleskine’s collaboration with Milkbooks, you can create your own photo book. All you need to do is follow the steps as outlined in the image below.

Moleskine On Demand Steps

I can imagine this concept being very appealing to people who like indulging in arts and crafts. In fact, this brings to mind a friend who made a scrapbook for her fiance for his birthday. Thinking of the work that went into that project, the idea of simply going online and putting a photo book together this way seems a good one. Before you decide, though, take a look at these two options.

Moleskine Photo Book

For $37.50, you get a free notebook (a Moleskine, of course). The photo book is 20 pages (23 x 5 x 18.9cm), in landscape orientation, and hardbound. Oh, and you get your image on the cover as well.

Moleskine Photo Book Plus

The “plus” means you pay $74.95. The measurements are the same, but you get 60 pages PLUS a linen fabric slipcase, PLUS an online digital Flipbook with video capability.

The  photo book is coming out this month, but you can already pre-order via this page.

So what do you think? Is the price (and pluses) worth the price?
