Torch Browser
There’s no love lost between me and Internet Explorer, and I imagine it could very well be the same with you. I loved Mozilla and all it has to offer. I like Google Chrome’s speed. I use Safari, though, simply because it does the job. The truth of the matter is that I have the last three browsers installed, and more often than not, all three of them are open as I work during the day.
Recently, however, Safari has been getting on my nerves, not the least because it keeps crashing. It does so erratically, and it doesn’t seem like any fix works. I am just about ready to give up on it and find an alternative browser.

I installed the latest version today, on Windows 7. It just kept crashing, so I removed it. Better go back to the drawing board, Torch programmers!
I definitely understand you I also had to remove it. All it did was crash I never even got to really check it out
Oh ha ha. Moderator banned my post here, because I said the Torch browser kept crashing after I installed it on my Windows 7 system. Ha ha. What a sucky way to not help users…and conceal serious glitches. Too bad for Torch, they can’t handle responsibility…they’d rather screw over their users. Ha ha. Losers.
It’s not really screwing anyone over, it’s not like we paid for it or anything.
I know exactly what you mean. I, too, have issues with Torch crashing for no reason. Hell, not even ten minutes ago it asked me if I wanted to make it my default torrent program and every time I’d tell it to make it my default program it would crash on the spot. The programmers have a lot of work to do to make this great idea actually usable, but it’s getting there.

I’m an official rep of Torch Browser and came across your posts. No, No, No… Crash is not good and it is not an expected behaviour. It might be a simple version issue, or faulty install. Try to uninstall Torch completely, and only then upgrade to the latest version. Use the offline installer at http://support.torchbrowser.com.
If this doesn’t work, please contact our support team here- http://support.torchbrowser.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/7/0/. These are the exact issues which we need to hear about from our users.

Yea, so Torch always crashed on me too, and I finally uninstalled and installed the latest version. Unfortunately, it too crashes, and has done so since installing it. I am seriously bummed out.
Patricia, do you have, by any chance, Google voice or Talk installed as an extension? If so, try to disable it and see if Torch still crashes. You can also try to disable all extensions at torch://extensions and then enable them one by one to see if one of the extensions is causing the crash.

My Torch browser doesn’t want to work when I go to facebook. It’s the only website that I can’t interact with. Could it be because of my AdBlock extension?
Hey man, I’m not sure that it has anything to do with it, but why don’t you try disabling the extension and see how it goes?
Ok I downloaded the latest version off torch’s website & installed Torch last night (25-03-2013).
I haven’t been able to open it without it crashing about 2 seconds after.
After about 15 minutes of faffing about I found that changing the properties
and telling it to run under compatibility mode: “windows 7″ for some reason works perfectly & it stops crashing.
So im not sure if some or other windows 7 update has stuffed it, but try setting it to run under win7 compat mode and you should be gd to go :)
I downloaded the Torch browser like 2-3 months ago, and up until about three weeks ago it was working fine. Yeah, up until. You see three weeks ago it would crash every few minutes, but I thought it was just some kind of glitch and disregarded it. But it’s been like this ever since. Matter of fact I’m on the browser right now and this is my second time typing this comment. Know why? Cause it crashed the first time! Still this browser is really good, I just hope the developers figure out a way to keep it from crashing so much.

This issue is only affecting some users, however, it will be fixed soon. What you should do in the meantime is download our latest version of Torch browser, since it includes some improvements that will give you a better browsing experience.

I downloaded the installer from CNET – windows hides Torch’s tabs and says “application has stopped responding. Terminate?” and won’t let me do anything. This only happens when I try to upload or download to websites. It’s -not- Torch’s fault, it’s “windows explorer” being a screw-ball.
As far as I’m concerned, Torch is a better browser than some I’ve seen. It can actually handle the throughput and load that I require for my server.
