Last year at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, it was announced that Gen Urobuchi would be teaming up with Toei Animation and Nitroplus to write the scenario for a new anime film called Rakuen Tsuihou: Expelled from Paradise. Gen is famous for writing the horrifying visual novel Saya no Uta, as well as disturbing anime such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero. Other notable staff on the Rakuen Tsuihou project include Seiji Mizushima (director), Masatsugu Saito (character design), Yasuyoshi Uetsu (visual design), Masaki Apsy (sculpture design), Tsuyoshi Kusano (graphic design), and Koichi Noguchi (producer).
Seeing as Rakuen Tsuihou is going to be an original anime, nothing is known about the storyline since Toei hasn’t released any information other than the staff list. The only hints as to what the anime will be about are from the official artwork that has been released. The initial artwork features a beautiful green-eyes girl in a futuristic suit underneath a who-knows-what. After that, fans were left wondering what had become of this project until last week when more artwork was released.
The first image was basically a cut and paste from the image a year back, but with a slightly different colour background. The second image was a bit more revealing, showing the same girl in what appears to be a cockpit. No one knows if it’s a mecha, spaceship, or something else, but it certainly seems like something to look forward to.
