WIN Steampunk Goodies by Artist Nat Iwata!

Steampunk Goodies

Nat Iwata

Steampunk. Not everyone gets it, but once you do, there is (probably) no turning back. I like UD’s definition, though I don’t know if steampunk enthusiasts will totally agree.

“Steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi-Victorian alternate history setting. It could be described by the slogan “What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner.” It includes fiction with science fiction, fantasy or horror themes.”

As you will already have gathered, this week’s giveaway is all about steampunk goodies. The works of art are by Nat Iwata, a Portland-based artist who has funded a couple of projects via Kickstarter. He is currently running another project on the platform: Elves & Orcs Bicycle Playing Cards.

It takes one quick look, and you know playing cards would never be the same again with this deck! Nat has 3 days to go before this project ends, and he needs a little push to get funded. Why not give him a helping hand and pitch in however you can? Check out the Elves & Orcs Bicycle Playing Cards project now!

Not that you need more motivation to help someone who has a cool project, but here’s something to sweeten the deal. How about getting some steampunk goodies from Nat?

So, we’re giving away THREE prize packs. Unfortunately, since the Elves and Orcs cards are not available yet, they can’t be part of the swag.

How about some Steampunk Cthulhu Bicycle® Playing Cards instead?

But, wait! There’s more! Nat also created a Steampunk Alphabet book, which is a must-have for any geek parent!

Steampunk Goodies

To sum up the prizes for this giveaway, we’re giving away THREE Steampunk goodies prize packs, each containing:

  • 2 decks of Steampunk Cthulhu Bicycle® Playing Cards (Why 2 decks? Because Nat is generous that way, knowing that people like keeping one deck in mint condition and using the other deck for playing!)
  • 1 signed copy of The Steampunk Alphabet

How’s that for an awesome way to start the week?

The details

Tweet, leave a comment, or follow on Twitter – that’s how you can earn entries for the Steampunk goodies giveaway. It’s easy, as usual, and you can tweet once a day. Please note that this giveaway is limited to those in the US.

We’ll be choosing the winners randomly around the time that Nat’s current Kickstarter project ends, on the 26th of June. Let’s support this generous artist who wants to share his work with us, shall we? Show Nat some love, ForeverGeek folks!

One of my dearest online friends was totally into all things “steampunk” past away 2yrs ago, she used to share with me photos of unique outfits she created from thrift stores she shopped at and art she designed on her PC. Now anything I read or see related to steampunk puts a smile on my face and fond memory flashbacks of her, thats why its great to me personally.

It makes me think of an alternate timeline if we had not shut down some of the great thinkers in history. Machine guns in the Victorian age is super fun!

Great stuff Nat! Steampunk is great because it’s what I imagine HG Wells imagined the future as
