Everyone knows about Kickstarter, and how many of its projects have been successfully funded. That’s why we decided to make it easier for you guys to get hold of available Kickstarter products via the ForeverGeek Kickstarter Store; but have you also taken a look at Indiegogo?
Not as popular as Kickstarter, Indiegogo also offers quite an interesting bunch of campaigns worldwide. From electronic devices to accessories to charity campaigns, you’ll find them in the platform. Today, I browsed the platform to see if there were any campaigns that would actually get geeks to open their wallets and look forward to something new.
Take a look, and let me know if I hit the nail right on the head.
Who doesn’t miss playing so that you can watch Mario bash his head on a brick to get coins? If you still have your old Gameboy, good for you! But there are simulators such as GBA4iOS, which allow you to play retro Nintendo games.
The G-PAD ups the ante by bringing real buttons – made of silicon – to your iPhone or iPod so that you can play your favorite retro games and mash physical buttons! Cool or what?
Back the G-PAD now?
If you listen to music on your phone a lot, and you have a decent sound system at home, you probably miss awesome sound while on the go. Here’s what you can do, then – back the Geek Wave, which turns your phone (Android or iPhone) into an awesome sound machine!
I Want My Nerd HQ 2014
Fans of the now defunct TV series Chuck will want to back I Want My Nerd HQ 2014, if only because the guy behind it is no other than Zachary Levi. Besides that, though, the Indiegogo campaign is about a convention for fans AND raises money for charity. What better project to back?
Gamebuino: an Arduino handheld console
You can’t have enough cool handheld consoles, can you? And you can’t get nerdier than an Arduino project. That’s what the Gamebuino is all about. In the words of the brains behind the project:
“That’s what I love about Gamebuino, it’s easy enough for beginners to start playing with immediately but restrictive enough to provide a decent challenge to those willing to push the hardware to its limit.”
That’s one that warrants “Shut up, and take my money already”!
Instead of throwing your money at trinkets and gizmos, why not consider these Indiegogo campaigns that could use your help?
