Patrick Rothfuss is one of my favorite fantasy authors. While not as well known as Robert Jordan and George R.R. Martin (he’s “new” to the game anyway), Pat does have his own way with words, which suckers you in like nothing else. And you don’t get dragging parts. At least that’s my experience.
He’s running an Indiegogo Campaign called Geeks Doing Good via his organization, Worldbuilders, which he established to raise money for a charity close to his heart, Heifer International. The main goal of the charity: end hunger and poverty, and while it is true that so many people are doing the same thing, the starker truth is that hunger and poverty are still a problem!
So, with Geeks Doing Good, we can all do a little bit to help. Some perks for backers:
A digital download of the Seven Wallpapers to Make Someone Love You, including an exclusive sneak peek at one of the art pages from the upcoming novella, The Slow Regard of Silent Things.
A pre-order for a Karen Hallion art calendar, which will include a brand new mashup featuring Kingkiller characters.
But there’s more! Take a look at the video to learn more about the campaign.
Don’t stop there. There are only a few hours left, and while Geeks Doing Good has astoundingly surpassed it’s funding goals – yes, geeks can be awesomely good at heart – it can still do with your support, so here you go:
