Halo 3 preview tonight

Halo 3 preview tonight

How about some non-BioShock related Xbox 360 news?  (My 6-inch Legendary Edition Big Daddy [that's what she said] is standing on my desk, asking me why I’m not playing right now.) If you live in the Seattle area, you can catch a Bungie presentation for that little Halo game they’ve got coming out in a few weeks.  From the article: Bungie staff will be on hand to demonstrate a sneak peek at co-op Campaign, Saved Films, and one or two surprises. There may also be time for a brief Q&A.    Entry to this unique and unprecedented fan event is free, but you must be 18 years old, or Read more »

J.J. Abrams to take on Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' film

J.J. Abrams to take on Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' film

J.J. Abrams, henceforth regarded as ”The Busiest Man in Hollywood”, has scooped up the rights to develop the film version of the Stephen King series The Dark Tower, Slashfilm reports. Abrams has Star Trek XI, Cloverfield, and another four rumored projects in the works, so when he’ll find time for this is beyond me. “I know J.J. Abrams’ work and Damon Lindelof, who is his collaborator on Lost. Damon is just a total comic-book freak, and he loves the Dark Tower books. I trust those guys, and they have a lot on the ball. When they said they wanted to talk about doing this, I said, ‘You know what? Why don’t you buy the Read more »

18 New "Dark Knight" Pics

18 New "Dark Knight" Pics

I’m getting pretty excited about Dark Knight.  Ledger as Joker, Eckhart as Two-Face…I think it’s really stacking up to be on par with, if not better than Batman Begins. Some new pics popped up all over the place last night, and they were finally posted in decent quality over at Film School Rejects.  There are some great new looks at the Joker, along with the Bat Pod, and a shot of 5 or 6 folks masquerading as Batman.  Hit the link to check out the rest. Sick of those cheapo HDTV's? Here's an alternative…

Are you struggling in your never-ending quest to create the most unbelievably gaudy home theater system?  LG just may have the answer for you.   Introducing the LG 71′ PDP “Luxury Gold” Television.  Not only is the TV itself plated with 24k gold, but all the peripherals are, too…speakers, woofer, DVD player…the whole nine.  No price tag at this time, but suffice it to say that it’s more than likely well out of your price range. Old people like to play with their Wii, too!

Old people like to play with their Wii, too!

Man, oh man, the Wii = penis jokes never get old, do they? The facilitators of the apparently coolest retirement home in the world devised this awesome little set up for its residents.  I’m not sure if they told Orioles man that the game takes care of the whole “umpire” thing for you, but, bah…let the guy have his fun. In all seriousness, this is just another example of how the Wii can transcend demographics and appeal to literally anyone.  Now, just release more decent games, Nintendo! 'BioShock' potentially on shelves as early as NOW!

'BioShock' potentially on shelves as early as NOW!

First off, if you haven’t checked out the incredible demo for BioShock on Xbox Live Marketplace, I highly recommend you do so (but settle in for a wait…it clocks in at a whopping 1.3 GB).  I didn’t get to sit down with it in earnest until last night, and burned an easy 45 minutes before I got too creeped out and had to shut it off.  If you’re a fan of first-person shooters, RPG’s, survival horror, or art deco, I think it’ll be right up your alley. The game is slated to be released on August 21, but there are reports coming out that various retailers, Toys ‘R Us, specifically, Read more »

Introducing…Camera On A Stick!!!

Introducing…Camera On A Stick!!!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out in the wilderness and been struck by the sudden urge to take a self-portrait.  If you frequently find yourself in the same boat, Xshot has you covered. For the low, low price of $24.95, you can get your very own stainless steel stick to take your very own self portraits!  But that’s not all…it will also collapse down from 37″ to 9″ for convenient transport! Never mind the fact that balancing a camera at the end of a 3 foot pole would result in less than stellar portraits…or that the pic above is the opposite of centered…go out and buy one now.
