Well, this is awkward… the IE Team has sent Mozilla a cake to celebrate the release of Firefox 2.0, which wasn’t even poisonous! In /. ,where the article was originally reported, thousands of nerds witnessed as their dreams, of the hate between the two companies, were shattered. As one of their users said, and I quote: Browser wars …just got a whole lot friendlier I think that Mozilla should send them one of their Firefox Plush-dolls in return: What do you guys think? Is your white MacBook cracking?
Looks like Sony isn’t the only company displeasing it’s customers lately. A few users have started to report the appearance of a small crack on one of the sides of their MacBooks and small distorting after normal usage. Though this issue hasn’t been reported by many, a few of the MacBooks I’ve seen lately seem to be suffering from premature discoloration which isn’t very nice considering the machines aren’t a year old even. Are Apple customers starting to plot another lawsuit? One thing is certain, this is the second accusation of bad construction materials in less than a year. Apple should get their act together and start fixing these issues. Read more »
iTrip Nano Review
Today when I passed by the (only) local Mac shop in my island I, for no apparent reason, decided to go step in again. Even though the 2nd Gen iPod Nanos were already sold out, when I turned around I was in for a nice surprise. For the first time, on any shop that sells Mac products here, I saw an iTrip Nano for sale, and since I was already thinking of getting one before Christmas, I decided it would be best to buy it at the moment before someone else would. That previous paragraph might sound a little pathetic, but since the product stock of our computer stores is Read more »
World of Warcraft's Blood Elves now with more testosterone!
Since the Horde in the World of Warcraft is known for it’s “ugly” and brute-looking races, most Horde players were disappointed when they saw that the new race for the expansion was none other than the “skinny” and “pretty” blood elves. So after numerous complaints regarding their femininity (I think that the WoW community complains way too much, but that’s just my personal opinion), Blizzard decided to make the blood elves more manly by increasing their “muscles” and making them closer to the Orcs, in terms of physique. There’s a much better comparison picture at the original article, but I found this image too funny to pass. Image credits to Read more »
Bypass Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) in 8 steps
The good people at Hacklabs have put together a 10 step guide, that I think that even computer-illiterate users will be able to follow, to get past the WGA check in most, if not all, Microsoft applications that require validation. 1. Download Orca (mirror) and install it. 2. Open WindowsDefender.msi with Orca 3. Go to the âCustomActionâ table on the left 4. Right-click on the âCHECK_WGAâ action and select âDrop Rowâ 5. Now got to âDialogâ table on the left 6. Look for the dialog âCheckWGAâ, change the Attribute from 2 to 0 7. File > Save (DO NOT use Save AsâŠ) 8. Close Orca and run the installer. So Read more »
Top Firefox 2 Tweaks
Even though Firefox 2 was only officially released yesterday, Gina Trapani, from LifeHacker has already put together a short article with some quick tweaks for everyone’s favorite Open-Source browser. Here are some of the tips I found interesting, you can see the others on the original article by clicking “Visit Site” below. Session restore Fx 2 only: As a blogger and web mail user, it breaks my heart to recount how many times I’ve composed a long post or email message, then accidentally closed the tab or browser and lost all my work. No more! With Firefox 2, set the browser.startup.page key to 3 to restore your browsing session – Read more »
Digg.com to be sold soon?
Michael Arrington from TechCrunch just gave news that Digg.com may be on it’s way to be purchased, as acquisition discussions have been unfolding. One of those companies which is interested in Digg is News Corp. However, the company was unable to land an offer in the price range theyâre looking for – at least $150 million – and will likely close a Series B round of financing instead. In the race for the top social/news website, leaving MySpace aside, Digg is by far the most visited according to this graphic. If what Kevin Rose said, about Digg not being breakeven, I think that it’s safe to assume that whoever buys Read more »
Sonic 3D beta Released
Drx from Hidden Palace has released the E3 96 leaked version of what was arguably one of the least favorite Sonic games ever: Sonic 3D. If you’re a big Sonic fan like myself I guess this will be a good piece of memorabilia to collect. And even if you’re not, it’s interesting to see what a Beta for an old-generation game is like. Apple announces Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros
As expected, Apple announced today the update to their popular MacBook Pro laptops that features the new Intel Core 2 Duo Processors. Apple claims that they are up to 39% faster than before. The graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 and the two new processors for the 15″ and 17″ are… 2.16GHz or 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed … for the 15″ model, and the later processor (2.33Ghz) for the 17″ one. Even though I find the 17″ model more appealing, I think that it is too big of a size for a laptop, therefore I’d probably Read more »
Rest in Peace Lik-Sang.com
As of today, Lik-Sang will no longer take any orders due to the result of the multiple legal actions brought against it, by none other than the ever-decreasing-in-popularity, Sony. As of today, Lik-Sang.com will not be in the position to accept any new orders and will cancel and refund all existing orders that have already been placed.
