Oh, I know what you’re thinking, this has got to be the sexiest bluetooth headset in the planet. Hey I don’t blame you at all, because in my book IT IS.
I’m not that all too tired about geeky headphone sets, they do serve their purposes quite well, in fact I am using one… Plantronics Explorer 360. I could tell you though that there are places I wouldn’t be caught wearing it… like if I’m in a formal event in a Tuxedo or suit. It just is “too loud” to wear paired with it don’t you think?
Looks like we’re all about version 2.0s … at least for my posts. Now let me show you another gadget that’s banking on the success of it’s version 1. The Morphie is one sought-after iPhone battery support. In a nutshell, it extends the iPhones “life”. If you’re one who can’t put your iPhone down for a rest because your constantly browsing the web, checking email, voice or net-calling… or watching videos and playing games… you know how quickly the battery flats out on you. Well, the Morphie Juice Pac 3G now extend the iPhone’s battery life by an additional … well, check this out. A full Charged Juice Pack 3G give users:

We all know that Amazon’s got downloadable and/or streamed online music and videos on sale, but what we probably missed is knowing that they’ve got video games too. The service is called Amazon Games downloads and right now it has over 600+ video game titles and each for less than US$10! Great eh? Makes me wonder if Yahoo will follow suit by lowering their Yahoo Games… really, at an average of US$29.99, too expensive games Yahoo.
Amazon Games Downloads allows you to download the full versions, play it for thirty minutes then decide if you want to keep it. This is nice. I think I can just about know if a game would put me to sleep or awake.
You can probably test the service by downloading free games. Amazon has 3 of them right here.
Check this out… the world’s most famous e-book reader has just released version 2.0. It’s available for pre-order, and judging by the way Kindle 1.0 succeeded, I’m sure Kindle 2.0 will stride to the top as well. Kindle 1.0 was rumored to have sold at least half a million units in 2008. Not bad considering that Oprah Winfrey gave her golden endorsement. Kindle played a major role in bringing people to the good habit of reading. And who wouldn’t try to grab an e-book these days with a great gadget to read it with. At .36 inches (almost as thick as a child’s pencil), the Kindle 2.0 is thinner than the thinnest mobile phone. Weighs 10.2 ounces, and the edges doesn’t taper as sharply as before. Perfect, not too bulky, for men’s briefcases or the lady’s handbag.

Something good has come from Google this week, Google Latitude. It’s paired with the Google Maps application allowing you to find your friends on the map at any given time. Scary… well, maybe. But don’t worry, as we know Google, this will be safe.
Google Latitude uses Google Maps My Location service that combines cell tower triangulation and GPS. Ah, too much tech to handle… well, in a snip, if you have a cellphone AND you allow friends to locate you, you can be found. There has been tests, that I’ve personally seen, on the CBS show and I must say it’s a 50/50 accuracy hit, at least for now. They tested Google Latitude on a family on a particularly busy and mobile day. Results were not so good, but brings a promise of improvement!
Oh yeah… this will work IF your cellphones can access Google Earth by the way. It will show you an actual map with a few pins on where your friends are (at least those you’re tracking). Cool eh?
Saw this little dongle at Office Max the other day and thought “hey that’s a dongle I could have used 5 years ago!” when I owned a Dell Inspiron 8600 and desperately needed a bluetooth connection with my Nokia cellphone. Dell was selling bluetooth with the 8600 model for a US$500 premium, too expensive for something I’d use occasionally.
Fast forward to 2008… look here, the same functionality for about US$5!
The Tiny USB 2.0 Bluetooth Doogle Adapter for PC Laptop, sold here, almost vanishes into your USB port. If you’ve got a bluetooth mouse with “giant” dongles that always get in the way, this is a good replacement.

This is a little odd, when I first saw this I thought a digital camera was supposed to be up there. But close study would show that the plug is for audio. The Portable Tripod Speaker is supposed to be “clever” until you take a step back and think is my precious MP3 gadget safe on top. Hmmm… valid question indeed.
If you’ve got a steady table to put this on top of, AND if you’ve got careful kids at home, then maybe your MP3 player IS safe. With the specifications below the jump, it does offer decent sound for a US$20 speaker set.

This is a great deal, and maybe something that will not stay for a long time. Just yesterday my brother-in-law was bragging about a “great find” on Ebay.com, he’s got a Blackberry Curve. I can’t wait to tell him I’ve seen the $99 Blackberry Storm on Amazon. And to add more envy, no mail in rebates to worry about. The discount is INSTANT, as long as you sign up for the standard Verizon service plan.
There is a little agreement to consider though, check it out after the jump:
You just gotta love ThinkGeek.com. They have the “craziest” gadget on the internet. Who would have thought that you could be living your dreams of becoming a Samurai, well errr, not quite… and not even close. But it’s fun though to imagine you are when you bring along the Umbrella Samurai.
This one comes with a strap so you can tie it to your waist or, for fun, strap it to your back. Just don’t feel a little awkward when people around you give you a funny stare. Their umbrellas aren’t as cool as yours anyway!
It comes with a nylon scabbard and, yes, push-button opening. Handle is a little longer for the “real effect”. It does make you carry it like a Samurai sword. If you’re not the kind of geek who brings umbrella to work, well with this… maybe you’d be bringing one EVEN on a sunny day.
This is interesting… and I think this is most useful to people who have less space in their laptop bags for an additional bulky battery charger. You’re in a conference and your portable audio recorder is loosing its power juice. No problem, just use the USB rechargeable AA battery. Grab a second pair so that you can charge the flat pair over your laptop’s USB port.
At 550 mAh, these USB rechargeable batteries are built for smaller gadgets. You probably can’t use it on your digicams.. noooo… just the smaller ones.
Features
- Built–in intelligent charger.
- Charged by powered USB port.
- Can also be charged by approved chargers.
- Widely used as common AA battery in your MP3, controller, PDA, etc.
- Can be used for CD,PDA, Toy, Shaver MP3, etc.
Ah, this will be the thinnest laptop stand I ever saw. The Latosta Portable Laptop Stand is relatively cheap to at US$10 plus shipping. It’s made of 304 stainless steel grade, definitely serving you for a long long time.
It says it fits any laptops of any width. What I am a little concerned with is how much strain does it apply to the laptop case. As you could see, it does put in a little “pressure”, and while you may adjust it, you can in time, abuse the plastic. At any rate, it seems you are free to try it out for 30 days and if you’re not satisfied with it, return it for a refund. Read the fineprint before you purchase!
Ok… here are the features:

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the color white for game consoles, which is why I have been holding off getting a Nintendo Wii. Some of my friends opted to get them nonetheless, but bought stickers to suit their tastes. But what is there to do for the Nunchuck? I’ve seen orange ones, but that’s just from eating Cheetos whlie playing… ha ha! Seriously, I’ve seen some you wouldn’t dare hold… even to play your favorite game.
Well, the Logic3 FunChuk is now available for those who needs a little more color for their Wii. It comes in 6 different flavors (red / orange / yellow / green / white / black). How cool is that? The Funchuck features accelerometers for motion based gameplay too, 8-way analog thumbstick, Z & C buttons and is compatible with all Wii Games requiring a Nunchuk. A little smaller than the standard/original Wii Nunchucks.
Funchucks are sold here for about US$25.

Here’s a product design that I’m very sure will see the assembly lines soon. I say that because its design is practical, functional and MUCH NEEDED. I remember the time I was making my daughter’s milk at 3AM, it’s not an easy task for a sleepy dad to do. I had to be sure that the temperature was just right, and tasting a few drops to measure temperature is as accurate as I can be.
Got this scoop from Yanko designs. The bottle’s graphics are printed with thermo-chromic anti-forgery ink and change to show you it’s just at the right temperature for consumption. Great eh? Now sleepy Dads, at least, won’t have a hard time during their early morning feeding shifts!
I could imagine more creative designs though… like cartoon characters for instance. The Baby Bottle was designed by Hung Cheng, Tzu-Yu Huang, Tzu-Wei Wang & Yu-Wei Xiang.

This is very creative work by Toronto artist Barb Feldman. What’s not to admire? It’s unique and would certainly require a notice when you strut and flash it around. Be prepared to be asked though, the Blackberry and the iPhone have cult following and wouldn’t feel shy to come up to ask where you got those nice earings. :)
Barb is running a website that displays a lot of her earing designs. Affordable as it is just a tad over or under US$20 too.
The material is made of polymer clay (great base material for hand-shaped items like “miniatures”), and while it does look like a little “warpy”, the designer made every effort to come close to the visual design of the real deals.
From Barb’s page you may attempt a request for specific designs, who knows she just may take the challenge.

Well, here’s another gadget that will try to take a slice out of the iPhone’s consumer pie. Such is the fate, I think, of following through after a great product is released… the curse of being called “another gadget”. But from a consumer’s point of view, this is great because more options, more competition, more newer technology breaks WILL mean better inventions at a much better bottomline cost.
The Toshiba TG01 has recently been launched unveiled (edited Feb 6) in Japan and is due for distribution in the USA soon. I know, it really looks like an iPhone with a little tweak in design. But the general “first-glance” looks and tastes like an Apple design.
How “connected” is the TG01? The connectivity section of the Toshiba TG01 includes HSPA and Wi-Fi plus a GPS receiver with A-GPS functionality. The internal storage is “only” 512 MB but you get a microSDHC card slot with support for up to 32GB.
The TG01 also comes with support for DivX video, and finally, the Toshiba TG01 makes use of a built-in 3.2 megapixel camera.
The OS chosen to power the Toshiba TG01 is Windows Mobile 6.1 but as you will see from the following video Toshiba have added their own 3D thumb-optimized user interface on top of it

Well, looks like there is a noticeable development in iDEN phone designs with the introduction of Motorola’s Stature i9 iDEN phone. I remember my cousin flashing a Sprint Nextel iDEN phone when it was hip to carry it around. But I think after about 6 months of use it occupied the bottom drawer, replaced by much slicker Nokia phones.
I think that was a firm cue for Motorola’s design team, I think the Statur i9 iDEN phone may make a rebound of trunk radio + cellphone tech convergence.
The Stature i9 will be available from Motorola and Boost Mobile to bring the thinnest flip iDEN phone in existence to the Nextel Direct Connect portfolio. Boost Mobile will be able to offer the Stature i9 from the end of this month onwards, while there is no word on Sprint’s release date although you can always pre-register your handset here to be among the first few to own it when available from that carrier.
