Yesterday Microsoft officially unveiled the next version of the the Zune. It’s a little slimmer, and a little better looking. It will now sync with your PC via wi-fi, and the “three days” part of the squirting of songs to one another has been removed…but 3 plays is still there. You’ll be able to send video over wi-fi as well. There is video now in the Zune Marketplace, and even the original Zune is going to be getting a software update to add some of the new features of the new Zune. It also now features a touch sensitive pad that is very much like the iPod clickwheel. Pricing is Read more »

Second Generation Sony Reader Launched
Sony has announced the 2nd generation model for the e-book Reader. I really want these things to succeed, but $300 is still pretty pricey for reading paperback books on a computer screen. Keep in mind, these Readers are created with an amazing digital ink technology that has the same resolution as actual paper (or close to it anyway), the result is that the screen looks and feels like you’re reading a piece of paper, but you’re actually carrying around a PADD styled device. The Sony Reader hold 160 ebooks, and connects via USB…it also supports SD and Memory Stick. If someone wants to buy me one, I’ll be happy to Read more »
Hitachi Shows Off Ultra-Thin LCD
You know, I watch a lot of Star Trek reruns throughout the day, thanks in large part to working at home (and the fact that there is no less than 6 hours of Star Trek aired every weekday in the U.S.) , and after seeing this new 32 inch TV from Hitachi – I can’t help but feel that the 24th Century technology is just too darn bulky. I mean, look at this 32″ LCD TV. It’s 0.75-inch (1.9cm) thick! This isn’t a production model, though. This device is the prototype for a television that we’ll see on sale in 2009. Still…I want one. Badly. via Gizmodo Read more »
$399 40 Gb PS3 "Confirmed" by Best Buy Documents
Engadget has received some documents that they admit could be easily faked…but after some UPC verification, they feel confident in reporting that it looks like Best Buy has confirmed the rumored $399 40 gb PS3. According to these docs, the system will also come bundled with Spider-Man 3. Giving you two complete and total disappointments for the price of one! (I kid – but Spidey 3 sucked and blew at the same time…seriously) I sincerely hope the PS3 is going to get competitive. Right now, I couldn’t give you one reason why I would want one, because I haven’t seen any exclusive games for it that get me excited, but Read more »
Nintendo to offer…curious looking…Silicone Sleeves to Wii Owners
So, starting October 15th, Nintendo is giving away these silicone sleeves to anyone who wants one for their Wiimotes. Apparently this is because people who refuse to put the strap around their wrists continue to throw their Wiimotes. How that’s Nintendo’s fault is beyond me. I do have to say though, that’s probably the most unattractive silicone sleeve accessory I’ve ever seen. Is it just me, or does it bring a few of the old “wii” jokes back to mind? You know…because it looks like some sort of weird alien silicone penis. click here to get your silicone sleeve online, or you can call 1-866-431-8367 to request one. Read more »
Nokia takes jab at Apple with "unlock" ads
Now even Nokia is jumping on the Apple bashing bandwagon with this series of posters that were hung in New York this weekend. Frankly, I’m sick of all this iPhone lock up talk, and I think it’s trite of Nokia to jump on the bandwagon – but even still – the ads are kinda funny. via Engadget. Read more »
What would Master Chief Look like if he was a Hot Chick?
Yup… This one of a kind clay statue (or figure…I’m not sure what the technical term is), is an amazingly well crafted concept for what Master Chief would look like as a chick. The item is up on eBay for sale – and it fetching quite the pretty penny. 10% of which is going to Breast Cancer research. Breasts are awesome – we should do everything we can to save each and every one. Read more »
Has the Xbox 360 Falcon Landed?
According to the fine folks at the Xbox Forums, the Halo edition of the Xbox 360 comes equipped with the 65nm CPUs, which are supposed to run cooler – and could finally put a stopper in the “red ring of death” plague. So if you’re looking to get a 360 anytime soon – you might want to grab the Halo edition – not only is it cool looking…and, you know…Haloy…it’s also a better machine… via CrunchGear Read more »
Shoprider Flagship – A Chlostrophobic's Worst Nightmare
In the world of electric scooters, you may only think of the Rascal, but there’s a new king in town – and his name is Flagship. The Shoprider Flagship is a top of the line all weather scooter for people with mobility issues. As a Chlostrophobic, I find this machine frightening on a level almost beyond comprehension. I would imagine these are the cars people drive in my own personal Hell, and that should I wake up there, I would do so, in one of these things, stuck in rush hour traffic forever. The doors on this vehicle are lockable (eek), but they can also be removed to accommodate larger Read more »
