Here are the lessons and other misc details that I learned from performing the hard task:

• sploggers are using “new” techniques to have trackbacks (read links) from original content (read specific posts). Most of the times, their post starts like this:

  And it ends with a copy/paste + link of our original article. Obviously, the sploggers in question are using some kind of RSS software that can track keywords and copy the content, because only particular posts are being “plagiarized”.

• In ForeverGeek’s case, the targets are posts concerning games.
• Sploggers like to use .info domains because they are cheaper.
• Almost one month ago, a Spanish person left a rude comment, thank g-d people didn’t notice, it was hardcore.
• The niche’s keywords are used in the domain name of the splog. Example: xbox360bestgames.info
• Someone from Romania (or with a .ro email address) tried to include an affiliate Amazon link on a comment by using tinyURL. So smart!
• Some people don’t like to use their real email on the comments, so it is kind of usual to see a fake@email.com as the address.
• The sploggers IP were directed to the US (Texas, Minnesota) and Netherlands.
• From time to time, the Akismet anti-spam plug-in still approves comments made by splogs.

Named H357 and priced at only $40, this Motorola headset is the one made for newbies. It has a simple design and shouldn’t be a problem making it work.

In a desperate move made by China, the internet cops (image) working for the government decided to redirect all the Chinese traffic coming from Google Blog Search, Yahoo, Microsoft Live, and YouTube, to a (censored) Chinese search engine called Baidu.

It is not the first time that China blocks specific sites, and I bet it won’t be the last. Back in March it was LiveJournal, and the Chinese version of Wikipedia had some troubles too, in 2006.

This problem has happened to me before, and the solution to get the downloads working again (in my case) was very easy – just had to delete one file, the “downloads.rdf” to be more specific, that is suppose to be located in the Profile folder of Firefox.

There might be other solutions to solve the “downloads in Firefox problem” – check this page on the Mozilla Knowledge Base for more information/solutions, such as reseting the download folder.

The YOM is capable of playing MP3 songs directly from a USB stick, just place it on the USB dock and you’re good to go. This means that instead of listening to radio or *beep* sounds to wake up, you can pick specific songs that will start playing at the desired moment.

But if it is really important to have 10 tabs open at the same time and check the content of each periodically, the normal left-clicks with the mouse won’t help you. So what you need to do is use the Control key, plus the number of the tab you want to look at.

For example, if Firefox is eating 110MB of RAM (like is currently happening to me) and clicking on a specific tab takes ages to load it, just use Ctrl + 1, or Ctrl + whatever the number of the tab. I can guarantee that with this process, you’ll open the tabs much faster than when comparing to the normal left-clicking.

PS – Ctrl + 9 goes for the last tab, and Ctrl + 1 is for the first one.

In the recent past, IFPI.com was owned by the “good” guys, but out of nowhere comes Pirate Bay and snatches the important domain name, leaving the real IFPI only with the .org extension.

Brokeup, one of the administrators at Pirate Bay, comments:
