My personal love of Futurama started a few years ago, with the repeats on Comedy Central. They were on so often that it became difficult to avoid them in any way, so I just went with it. I saw the humor that I missed back in 2000, and now I try to catch every episode I can to catch up. I haven’t bought everything on DVD yet, but I imagine I will soon enough.

Yep, it’s Vegeta alright! Lol! Aside from him, there are other characters from other anime/cartoons, found on the video as well, such as Shinji Akira of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Santa’s Little Helper from The Simpsons, and even Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I found the video to be really impressive, especially the editing and the recreation of the in-game menus and subtitles. Being a fan of the in-game music in the Phoenix Wright games, I really loved the track that was used on the video. It kinda makes me want to dust off my Nintendo DS and play the game again.

The video was created by CastorTroy. He’s the coordinator for Video Game AMV Projects, which is a group of enthusiasts who create videos from remixes of video game music. How’s Lightning McQueen and the other Disney Cars that twinkle when you have a new email sounds to you?

If you’re in South Georgia, you must have seen this Pac-Man Car, not chasing the monster pellets but probably just giving its owner a ride of his life. Speaking of the owner, he could probably Pac-Man’s most ardent fan. I mean, who would paint his 1996 Chevy Caprice in yellow and red Pac-Man theme?Not only is this car’s body painted with Pac-Man images and shapes but even its leather seats are customized with Pac-Mac designs.

And wait until you see the Pac-Man car’s rims – underneath the chrome wheels is Pac-Man’s face painted in between. Can you imagine looking at this car’s wheels while on the move?  On a hot sunny day, I would advise you to avoid looking at the car’s moving wheels do, it might distract you from your own driving.

It looks cool, right? Gives me an idea to paint my car witheither  Astroboy or Super Mario.

Going back to the Pac-Man car, it looks like it’s not only making the rounds on the streets of Georgia but on the Internet as well, as you can see from source links below.

The idea of doing fan art parodying some of my favorite characters and stars in such a fun and simple style got me hooked immediately. Some of these guys and gals have appeared on the Simpsons and I could just work from that, but most I had to do from scratch.

The results often are amazing and last week’s Ghostbusters week was very cool.

The accompanying article complains mostly about the violence in the new generation of cartoons featuring the “weirdies”, the Super-Heroes. While the piece does mention both sides of the argument about the effects of violence on children it comes down in favor of the classic and presumably more kid-friendly characters from animation. The author seems to have forgotten how incredibly violent the old cartoons were. They were astonishingly brutal even with the heavy editing that was performed prior to network broadcast to ensure all the explosions and maiming of bunnies at the hands of crazed opera singers were not shown and all the horror occurred between scenes or off-screen.

Another blast from the past is going to be made into a movie.

The hit 80’s cartoon series Voltron is going to get live action treatment in Hollywood. The new movie will receive a moderate budget and will reportedly use more “cost-efficient” technology similar to the ones used in making 300 in order to get more savings.

Max Makowski has been attached as the director of the Voltron movie.

For those who don’t remember it, Voltron was an anime series that tells the story of five survivors of an alien attack who pilots five lion-shaped robots that join together to form a big sword wielding robot.
