Sure, the latest tactical shooter games might give you a pat on the back for fancy takedowns or completing segments of the singleplayer campaign. But those are for wusses. The U.S. Army offers real-world awards that make your “virtual” badges look like a Razzie.

This infographic is not an official Army creation, but it follows in the footsteps of loads of marketing and recruitment efforts in recent years from the U.S. Army meant to make the armed forces “cool.” The Army’s own marketing efforts of late have included a full-featured, free FPS game, cross-promotions with the likes of Halo 3, and a whole slew of iPhone apps.
