The Occupy Movement has been going on for a while and has even expanded beyond the borders of the United States. Whether or not you agree with the movement, it is worth taking a look at the work of artist and prankster Sucklord. Now with a name like that, you know you are in for a bit of fun. Sucklord has taken an interest in the Occupy Movement and has combined the concept with something everyone can relate to: the Transformers. So what do you get when you put together these two ideas? Occupy Cybertron, what else? The project is taking on the form of a toy exhibit in New Read more »

New McFarlane Walking Dead Action Figures
With the TV series “The Walking Dead” being picked up for a second season, and “first looks” being shown left and right, toy maker McFarlane’s announcement of two new action figures couldn’t have come at a better time. Earlier this year, in February, McFarlane already announced its line of action figures – from both the comics and the TV series. Here’s one of those action figures, which never fails to turn my stomach each time I look at it (don’t ask me why I keep looking anyway). It’s a Zombie Lurker, by the way. The two new action figures are little more easy on the eyes. Here’s the one of Read more »
Old Toys Revived
Do you imagine where your old childhood toys ended up if they haven’t been thrown away? What about your GI Joe or Star Wars figurines, heck even a Pink Panther or Bugs Bunny figurine. The answer is: flea markets, garage sales and eventually maybe as an art piece. Lucas Mongiello an Argentinian artist based in Paris, France, collected these old figurines when he came across them on flea markets and created some cool art with them. He mixed several sets of these figurines and assembled them inside glass cases. A bit like a boat in a bottle concept, only with a glass case. Read more »
Wins and Fails This Week in Geek v 11
Here we are: on the cusp of 2011, waving tearfully at 2010 and wishing it bon voyage, or telling it not to let the door hit it in the arse…depending on the kind of year you’ve had. And here we are wrapping up another week in geek, just in time to gather with friends and family and partake in the yearly Twilight Zone marathon drinking game (one shot every time Roddy McDowall looks constipated, two shots every time someone jumps out a window, chug a pint whenever a tiny robot intimidates an old lady). No more time to waste, so let’s cut straight to action. WIN: Solar Pants While also Read more »
DC Universe Classics Gives Robin Two Different Haircuts
The new Mattel DC Universe Classics line actually makes the series look like it’s worth buying again, with Robin, Robin, Knightfall Azrael, the Riddler, Jonah Hex, Mercury, the Creeper, and a Bane build-a-figure. Yes I said Robin twice and for good reason, there are two of him. The strange part? The only difference appears to be that there are two different haircuts on the Robin action figures. It’s also the first time in a while that the line doesn’t offer a bunch of obscure characters, other than maybe Creepers, who also isn’t insanely obscure like some past offerings. Read more »
More Tron toys: the Light Cycle rides up walls!
Yesterday James told you all about the new Tron Legacy action figures that light up. Today we have a full gallery of all of the planned Tron toys in gorgeous high-resolution images, including the action figs and a remote control Light Cycle toy (seen above) which can actually ride up walls and even on the ceiling. I have no idea how this Light Cycle toy rides on walls, and I don’t want to know. All that matters is that it does. I have a video that shows it in action to prove it: Read more »
Star Wars Legacy Collection: Willrow Hood, Cloud City's Ice Cream Guy
As Willrow Hood embroidered the finishing touches to his banana split, he wondered whether the decision to go all vanilla, foregoing the traditional precept of the neopolitan way, made as much sense. Living in Cloud City may have already dulled his sense of color, but sneaking away from duty to conjure a batch of ice cream amidst a direct attack by the Empire was more of a dying wish than that of reckless abandon. Willrow Hood works for the gas mining company on Cloud City. When the Empire seizes control of the city, Hood destroys a computer memory core to prevent the Empire from discovering information about secret transactions with Read more »
Transformers sequel toys incoming
I haven’t been buying toys lately because I haven’t seen any new toys that has caught my fancy. The last action figure I bought was a DC Direct Batman as an addition to my growing Batman action figure collection. The only other addition to my collection was a Long Halloween Batman that was given to me as a gift by my brother in law. But it looks like this long drought is about to end. With the new Transformers movie, Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, to be released in just a few months I, and my wallet, am gearing up for the inevitable deluge of Transformers toys. I’ve been a Read more »
