The Occupy Movement has been going on for a while and has even expanded beyond the borders of the United States. Whether or not you agree with the movement, it is worth taking a look at the work of artist and prankster Sucklord. Now with a name like that, you know you are in for a bit of fun.

Sucklord has taken an interest in the Occupy Movement and has combined the concept with something everyone can relate to: the Transformers. So what do you get when you put together these two ideas? Occupy Cybertron, what else?

The project is taking on the form of a toy exhibit in New York, with toy figures wearing business suits topped off by Decepticon touches.

Occupy Cybertron Decepticons

Of course, it is obvious that what Sucklord is doing is rife with negative repercussions. He is tackling one of the most controversial topics today after all. To this, he said: “I thought long and hard and nearly pulled the plug on this release, for fear of running afoul of the movement. I’m squarely in the camp of the 99 percent, and I know it’s anathema to the movement to profit off of it, so I want to make my intentions clear before anyone makes any snap judgments.”

Now I don’t know if that explanation will make the Occupy camp happy, but you cannot deny that there is an appeal to Occupy Cybertron, can you?

Sucklord is not new to the toy scene. He is, in fact, one of the most well known names in his niche today, and if you would like to get your hands on some of his work (or at least discover what else he has to offer), visit the Suckadelic.

Earlier this year, in February, McFarlane already announced its line of action figures – from both the comics and the TV series. Here’s one of those action figures, which never fails to turn my stomach each time I look at it (don’t ask me why I keep looking anyway). It’s a Zombie Lurker, by the way.

The two new action figures are little more easy on the eyes. Here’s the one of Daryl Dixon, the badass expert hunter who ends up being one of the survivors at the end of the first season.

Official description of the figure:

An abrasive survivalist, and brother of the outspoken racist Merle, Daryl Dixon is an all-new character created specifically for the hit AMC television show. Our figure of Daryl features the exact likeness of the actor, taken from a 3D scan of Norman Reedus himself. Figure comes with crossbow, hunting knife, fire axe, pick axe, and even a string of squirrels. Daryl goes perfectly with the Zombie Biter figure, also in The Walking Dead Television Series 1.

The other action figure is of a Zombie Walker, which looks a tad bit “better” than the Lurker announced earlier.

Official description of the figure:

This memorable Zombie Walker, clad in a dirty business suit, was encountered by Rick during his first excursion into Atlanta. Upon Rick’s arrival, the walker rose from the wreckage of a city bus and followed Rick to an abandoned tank. This figure features all the attention to detail that McFarlane Toys is known for. Plus, like all of our The Walking Dead zombie figures, the Zombie Walker features unique playaction for even more fun. This one includes a special wind-up feature, so your Zombie Walker will actually walk!

Pretty cool that the Walker walks, but I wouldn’t want to wake up in the middle of night and see it in action…

Lucas’ creation is a great idea for if you still have your childhood figurines stored in boxes somewhere. They make a nice decoration on a desk or in a book case alongside your books. I would love to have such a glass case with my childhood favorite characters such as; Leono from Thundercats, Speedracer, Bugs Bunny, basically a complete mix of varying characters. One can never have enough childhood nostalgia.

Here we are: on the cusp of 2011, waving tearfully at 2010 and wishing it bon voyage, or telling it not to let the door hit it in the arse…depending on the kind of year you’ve had. And here we are wrapping up another week in geek, just in time to gather with friends and family and partake in the yearly Twilight Zone marathon drinking game (one shot every time Roddy McDowall looks constipated, two shots every time someone jumps out a window, chug a pint whenever a tiny robot intimidates an old lady). No more time to waste, so let’s cut straight to action.

WIN: Solar Pants
While also being another excellent band name, solar pants are coming to the simultaneously idly-rich and ecologically-conscious. The $920 trousers, Go Urban Cargo Pants, feature a stylish low-slung drawstring waist offset, if not entirely canceled, by two hideous side solar panels. This is more than a fashion statement that says “hello, I have $920 to burn and absolutely no clue how my money could be better spent for the environment”. It’s also a way to carry a power source for small electronics in your pants, which means your love affair with your car’s cigarette lighter socket and assorted adapters will end in messy divorce.

FAIL: Better Judgment
A 23-year old South Carolina man was hospitalized after unsuccessfully attempting to stage a real life recreation of the classic video game Frogger. The incredibly inane stunt (that, had he succeeded, would have been both incredibly inane and unfathomably awesome) began with the word “go” and ended in an SUV as he tried to dart across a four-lane highway.

WIN: Technologically-Assisted Drinking
Want to get blitzed on whatever now-sludgy crap you’ve got sitting at the back of your parents’ liquor cabinet? There’s an app for that. App-enabled drinkers everywhere will be thrilled to usher in the age of Top Shelf, an application that teaches you how to build a drink from whatever you have on hand, without making a special trip to the liquor store. And in case you’re too lazy to run to the store and too lazy to choose a drink from the selection available, Top Shelf can choose a recipe for you. Bonus.

FAIL: Man of Action
…Action figure, that is. In time for Christmas, M.I.C. Gadget manufactured and sold Steve Jobs action figures with an uncanny, if somewhat hydrocephalitic likeness to the Apple giant. For some reason, people actually bought them at a price tag of nearly $80.00. (It would be equally astounding if people actually bought them at a price tag of nearly $8.00.) The rub? M.I.C. Gadget never requested permission to use Jobs’ likeness in their product, invoking Apple’s wrath. They dutifully complied with a cease and desist from Apple, but the action figure continued to sell at prices of up to $2,500 on eBay. (Insert further agog here.) Now Apple’s lawyers have turned their guns on the online marketplace and at least one individual seller; the action figures have since been removed and warnings have been issued by eBay.

Happy New Year to you and yours. Have fun but be safe as 2011 dawns. See you next year, same Geek-time, same Geek-channel!

Yesterday James told you all about the new Tron Legacy action figures that light up. Today we have a full gallery of all of the planned Tron toys in gorgeous high-resolution images, including the action figs and a remote control Light Cycle toy (seen above) which can actually ride up walls and even on the ceiling.

I have no idea how this Light Cycle toy rides on walls, and I don’t want to know. All that matters is that it does. I have a video that shows it in action to prove it:

There are also deluxe Light Cycles, backpacks, a computer keyboard and mouse, video game controllers, an iPod dock, and more. And pretty much all of this stuff lights up in Tron’s bright neon blue color — including the toys. And as you can see in the video, the remote control Light Cycle even leaves a small light trail behind it.

See the full gallery of all 16 toys & accessories here.

We know it’s possible for a bad movie to have good toys, but I have a good feeling about Tron Legacy. It just looks too awesome to suck.

Willrow Hood works for the gas mining company on Cloud City. When the Empire seizes control of the city, Hood destroys a computer memory core to prevent the Empire from discovering information about secret transactions with the Rebels.

It must be mentioned that Willrow Hood uses the ice cream maker, not the blaster, to destroy the memory core.

Willrow Hood is the latest addition to the Star Wars Legacy collection. He’s the guy in orange seen running — for barely a second — in the escape from Cloud City scene.

I haven’t been buying toys lately because I haven’t seen any new toys that has caught my fancy. The last action figure I bought was a DC Direct Batman as an addition to my growing Batman action figure collection. The only other addition to my collection was a Long Halloween Batman that was given to me as a gift by my brother in law.

But it looks like this long drought is about to end. With the new Transformers movie, Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen, to be released in just a few months I, and my wallet, am gearing up for the inevitable deluge of Transformers toys. I’ve been a big fan of the Transformers since I was kid and even though I hated the Transformers movie, I loved the movie tie-in toys that was released by Hasbro. If the previews at the recently held Toy Fair is any indication, this new batch of toys are going to be equally awesome as well, if not more so.

If there’s one action figure that I’m really gunning for in this particular batch though it would have to be the Devastator set. I’m a big Devastator fan and I’d love to get my hands on these toys. The Devastator set is composed of the six Constructicons (Hightower, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Rampage, Scavenger and Scrapper) who all form the giant Transformer Devastator. Just look at the picture above and you’ll see how awesome the toy is!
