Adidas Originals has partnered with LUCASFILM Ltd to create, yet again, Star Wars branded sneakers. The Star Wars x adidas Originals is set for a Sping/Summer 2011 release. The Star Wars theme is very obvious in some of the shoes design and less in others. The Select Pack will contain characteristics from an AT-AT Pilot on the El Dorado, the city of Coruscant on the Skyline and Emperor Palpatine on the ZX 8000 and more. Gerry Mckay a web designer from Glasgow has created two Adidas Superstars concept based on social networks. Adidas Superstars sneakers were wildly popular about 13 years ago, but they are still selling well. There are even versions that comes with markers so that you can color or write on them. Gerry Mckay took the idea a whole step further by designing a Twitter and Facebook special edition of Superstars. Both version have a complete style guide with colors, fonts, laces, logo and slogans. Back in December, we told you about a new line of Adidas gear designed for the Star Wars enthusiasts. Like some kind of wacky hot tub time machine, here we are in the future – 2010 – and some of the shoes are out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any sign of the dope Stormtrooper or Darth Vader models listed back then, but what I do have is all new stuff. When major labels take over a branch of science fiction, the end result can be described as an epiphany of sorts for the uninitiated.
