Like all of my posts, this will start with a seemingly random story. A few months back, my wife and my mother were talking about decorating our then-impending child’s baby room, and the subject of painting the room came up. My mom had painted Sesame Street characters along the wall, so that started the ideas. Happy birthday Photoshop: Hits 20 today
Today, February 19, heralds the twentieth birthday of probably the world’s most famous image and photo editing software. Photoshop A new “celebrate” tab on the Photoshop Facebook fan page lets users who love the software that much to change their profile picture to the 20th anniversary logo. Adobe TV will air a special demonstration of Photoshop 1.0 on a rebuilt Mac. Photoshop itself evolved out of a pixel imaging program called Display, created by Thomas Knoll in 1987. Adobe shows off mobile version of AIR
Love it or hate it, Adobe’s AIR is widely used to power a number of desktop apps that interface with the web. Twitter clients and video streaming apps immediately spring to mind, but of course there are countless more. Now, Adobe has announced a mobile version of its AIR technology that will allow developers to create native applications for smartphones across a variety of OSs, including Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, Palm, webOS and Windows Mobile. It has been designed to take advantage of a device’s capabilities, including touchscreen, gesturing, accelerometer and GPS.
