Paris-based artist Anastassia Elias has found something worthwhile to do with these cardboard tubes that usually just find themselves discarded without a second thought. With a pair of sharp scissors, a cutter, some imagination, and creative lighting, she came up with some pretty designs.

I think that the designs are very simple – almost childlike, actually. Their beauty lies in their simplicity, though, don’t you think? Some of the figures look as if a talented kid could have sketched them and cut them out, but the way they are put together makes for a different overall effect. As you can see at the bottom row, you can get the designs as prints, t-shirts, and laptop skins. You can purchase these at Society6. They’re a bit on the pricey side, but unless you want to use up all your toilet paper and start cutting, you might want to just shell out the money.

Any idea what they are for? I really hope I won’t get into trouble for posting this image, but they illustrate best what pasties are used for.

So who would ever find the need for these pasties? Girls, I am sure that even though your job does not require you to bare yourself, having a couple pairs of these pasties could be quite useful every now and then. Gone are the days of having to use the same old boring pair of pasties. Now you can go stag to a party and smile secretively to yourself – as if you knew something that no one else did.

For a mere 60 euros you can have a pair of these babies. Pretty steep, I agree, but the idea has been planted. If you can’t spare that much, then I guess you can head on over to the nearest arts and crafts shop and come up with your own design! (That should work, too!)

For sure, you understand just how much of a hassle it can be to have all your gadgets stuffed into a bulky bag; not to mention the power cords, connecting wires, and the accessories. Finding the right gadget amidst the mess that is your bag can be totally frustrating; carrying a bulky bag even more so. Enter the SCOTTeVEST.

It’s dubbed as a man’s vest, so I don’t know if women can wear it; but I really don’t see why not! It comes in various sizes, and sells for $100. Now, THAT could be a problem for some.

Personally, I thought that the promotional video was fun to watch once – just the thought of having so many gadgets handy amused me – but I am not sure if I would wear the vest. Would you?

When major labels take over a branch of science fiction, the end result can be described as an epiphany of sorts for the uninitiated. Geeks can now roam the earth more freely taking advantage of the fact that their little cult has been carved out and brought into the mainstream.

Take Adidas. Out this 2010, Adidas Originals will feature a special Star Wars apparel collection highlighted by the Storm Trooper / Vader footwear for the guys and, well … Princess Leia rubber shoes highly inspired by the slave girl outfit.

Manufacturers are fragmented to complete the whole picture. So you have Adidas for the boots, Marc Ecko for the hoodies (see above hoodie for the Clone Trooper), and who knows, perhaps we’ll have North Face or Columbia designing Storm Trooper pants in the coming months.

So what happened to Star Trek? Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some co-branding competition in the same way that ASUS owned the Lamborghini and ACER owned the Ferrari laptop tie ups. Paging Nike?

The Ecko hoodies go between USD $59 to USD $199 (the most expensive is the Rebel Pilot hoodie because it actually holds a tinted visor for the “helmet”). No official prices have been announced for the Star Wars Adidas Originals. Boo — this would have been epic for the holidays.

Our friends at ThinkGeek would surely agree. That is why they have come up with the ultimate shirt for geeks who want more excitement and/or drama in their daily lives. I am talking about the Personal Soundtrack Shirt.

This shirt has a speaker embedded onto the front. While it has built-in sounds, it does offer personalisation through SD-card capabilities. You can also use your iPod or any other mp3 player to create the soundtrack of your life. And when you need music to accompany your daily routine, you just need to push a button on the remote control device.
