Bring Out the Artist in You With iCases

iCases

One of the fun things about owning Apple products is the search for the perfect case to match them. Whether you have an iPad (or iPad 2), an iPhone (whichever model), or a Mac laptop, there is always a case or two that will catch your eye. There are the classic kinds, and there are the quirky ones. Speaking of quirky, I just discovered a line of cases for Apple products which fit the bill. For ease of writing, let us just call them iCases. Papernomad is a group of “socially conscious designers, marketing professionals, artists and one or two lunatics”. Their goal is to design and produce bags, covers, Read more »

Moleskine iPad/iPhone Hybrids

Moleskine iPad/iPhone Hybrids

As much as I am a gadget geek I still love analog things like pens and notebooks. I have several brands of notebooks including a couple of Moleskine’s and I even have two fountain pens. It doesn’t get more old skool than that. If you are like me and like both digital and analog then you should seriously consider the new Moleskine covers for the iPhone and the iPad. Read more »

Apple unveils iPhone 4

Apple unveils iPhone 4

Today at WWDC, Steve Jobs unveiled the long-awaited and already-leaked iPhone 4 — which is not the “iPhone 4G,” as was anticipated. Here are the highlights: The design of the iPhone has been completely overhauled. Gone is the soap-shaped smartphone of… well, yesterday. Instead, we have a sleek new ultra-thin device shaped not unlike a 2001 monolith, with rounded edges. In essence, it looks like a miniature iMac. It’s high-density glass on the front and back, with stainless steel around the sides. The phone’s antenna is built in to the metal siding — just one of many clever innovations that allow the new device to be so incredibly compact. It’s Read more »

Apple, when their popularity works against them

Apple, when their popularity works against them

I love Apple products, I bought my first iBook early 2004 and have been a 100% Apple user since then. I even allow myself the OS X vs. Windows discussion now and then with friends. But since the iPod made Apple more mainstream then niche it has grown in users outside the hardcore longtime Apple users. What follows is a rant against the current culture of complaining about a gadget but then buying it all together. Brought on by the release of the iPad and the recent leak of the iPhone 4G. Basically all Apple products. The biggest consequence of Apple becoming mainstream is the mindless bitching by users about Read more »

iPhone getting its own social gaming network

iPhone getting its own social gaming network

The iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad are about to get their very own version of Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. As part of the new features unveiled today for iPhone OS 4 (but no new hardware was announced, sorry), Apple is this summer launching a feature called Game Center, which adds friend invites, multiplayer matchmaking, achievements, and leader boards to iPhone and iPad games. iPhone and iPod Touch users will get OS 4 around late June, while iPad users will have to wait until sometime this Fall. This is such a no-brainer for Apple, it’s a wonder they haven’t done it before now. iTunes offers more than 50,000 game apps, Read more »

Nintendo takes the 3D plunge

Nintendo takes the 3D plunge

Nintendo has announced that it will be first out of the gate with a game console that features 3D gaming — and it’s a handheld, no less. The successor to the super-successful DS handheld is being called the “3DS,” and is said to somehow offer handheld gamers the experience of playing games in 3D without the need for special glasses. Nothing is known yet about the technology Nintendo is using to make this work, but the company plans to unveil the device at E3 in June. Industry scuttlebutt suggests that the 3DS console could go on sale for this holiday 2010. It doesn’t take a cynic to realize that this Read more »

Google Nexus One Or The iPhone?

via iSmashPhone

Oh, the decisions we have to make in life! Less than two weeks into 2010 and I am already facing a dilemma. You see, I have a LONG list of resolutions for this year. If you read my post earlier this week, you’d know that one of them is to finally buy an iPhone. No more self-restraint or el cheapo mode for me – at least for this gadget. Then I started reading up on Google Nexus One. Was this a mistake or a stroke of luck? You tell me. I should receive some news later today about “my” iPhone, but I am thinking that maybe it is the Nexus Read more »
