The Most Creative Way to Recycle an Old Boeing 747
Where do airplanes go when they die? Do they have airplane heaven to look forward to? While most airplanes are dismantled and the separate parts are dealt with accordingly (scrap metal shops, recycling, etc.), here’s one airplane that has been re-purposed and turned into a house. I admit it, that title could be influenced by the early Friday morning whiskey after the iPad Bling, but still it is the first thing this abso-frakkin-lutely gorgeous house made me think of. I bet I need to find some more Spongebob references for this post but to be honest, sometimes it’s just better when I shut up and let you enjoy the beauty of this Nautilius Shell house. The house was built in 2006 by Arquitectura Orgánica for a couple from Mexico City, with two kids. Apparently they wanted to feel one with nature and live more in harmony, integrated in nature. Awesome 3D Architectural projections
555Kubik has released a documentary around the theme “How would it be if a house was dreaming?” The conception of this project consistently derives from its underlying architecture – the theoretic conception and visual pattern of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. The Basic idea of narration was to dissolve and break through the strict architecture of O. M. Ungers “Galerie der Gegenwart”. Resultant permeabilty of the solid facade uncovers different interpretations of conception, geometry and aesthetics expressed through graphics and movement.
