Scifi Ikea Manuals
I’m just nuts over these Ikea manuals. They’re not real of course, but anyone who’s ever put together a piece of Ikea furniture will recognize the smiling, line-drawn character, the list of materials needed to build, and the wordless, step-by-step instructions. With tongue firmly in cheek, CollegeHumor put together these Ikea manual parodies of famous objects from science fiction movies and TV. I love them all, but my favorite has to be the TARDIS, because of the Fez. Fezzes are cool, you know. Like bow ties. Read more »
Ultimate 80s T-Shirt
Have you ever heard of Tee Fury? It’s this nifty website where every day, they make one new t-shirt available for just 24 hours or until it sells out. All shirts are sold for $10 (+ shipping), and they never make that same t-shirt again. Their designs come mostly from members of their forum, who create the artwork, and Tee Fury then pays the designer $1 for every shirt they sell. Basically, they profit off of your fear of missing out on something good. Their designs are always geektastic, but as a geek of 80s, today’s design really captured my attention. The designer, “nganci,” combined Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1 with Transformers, the Read more »

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You will never lose weight if you do not eat a proper breakfast. You need breakfast to build up energy to get you through the day. We’ve all heard those platitudes. If you live with your parents, then you probably still hear them on a daily basis. If you struggle with breakfast, I am totally with you. To add a little more motivation, throw in some of these cereal box designs by Ian Glaubinger. Read more »
Back to the Future Posters by Dave Williams
For the children of the 80s, the Back to the Future Trilogy is definitely at the top of our favorite movies list. And why not? This comedic science fiction series written by Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis made us dream of being able to do whatever it is we want – even going back in time and going back to the future. Who can’t help but love Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown as they bumbled around in different points in time? It is the future, and it seems that Back to the Future has not lost one bit of its luster. Late last year, Universal decided to re-launch the Read more »
Review: Back to the Future: The Game
Back to the Future: The Game wields nostalgia with a fun story that never feels forced or trite. Instead, it’s a storyline that seems to grow organically out of everything laid out in the movies. There’s a bit of mumbo-jumbo involving a lightning strike as an explanation for how the DeLorean survived its encounter with a train at the end of the third movie. But I recommend you just go with it, because Marty’s back, Doc’s back, and it’s time to go Back to the Future, baby. Telltale Games clearly saw this game, which is being told in six episodic installments, as a labor of love. Because their attention to Read more »
Back to the Future Game Hits 12/22
Back to the Future: The Game is coming, and sooner than you think: it’s less than a week away! Wednesday, December 22nd is the launch date for the game’s first episode (of five), on both PC and Mac. Entitled “It’s About Time,” this first episode finds Marty having just returned from his adventures in the Old West from the third movie, the DeLorean destroyed by a speeding train, when suddenly the DeLorean materializes right in front of him. Doc Brown uses the mysteriously-resurrected DeLorean to send Marty an S.O.S. from the past, where Doc is trapped. Although the game is unfolding in five downloadable episodes, Telltale Games has decided to Read more »
Michael J. Fox Won’t Be Marty McFly in BTTF Game
In case you didn’t know, we’re excited about Telltale Games’ upcoming Back to the Future video game. Christopher Lloyd is back as the voice of Doc Brown, and screenwriter Bob Gale, who worked on the movies, is onboard as a story consultant. So the only remaining question has been whether or not Michael J. Fox would lend his voice to the game as well. Well, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The bad news is that Fox has declined involvement with the game (though he signed off on letting them use his likeness), perhaps due to his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. The good news? Telltale has found the perfect Read more »
