More than meets the eye? Well, kinda. Standing forty feet tall and weighing six tons, this facsimile of Optimus Prime as seen in Michael Bay’s recent live-action movies has been built in Beijing‘s Green Dream Park, just outside of the “Bird’s Nest” stadium used in the 2008 Olympics (the stadium can be seen in the picture above, in the haze behind the robot). The construction (it took all my will power just now not to type “constructicon”) stands as a monument to environmentalism and recycling, since it was built out of spare car parts, which took five truckloads to cart to the environmentally-themed park. Chinese bike with polygonal wheels: would you ride it?
Take a look at this rather bizarre bike. Apart from the fact that its wheels don’t have spokes, they’re not round either. The front wheel is a rounded off pentagon while the back one is a reuleaux triangle (yeah, I went to Wikipedia too). Read more »
