Fans of the Black Rock Shooter (BRS) franchise will no doubt be happy to hear that it is finally getting its own TV series. Considering how popular BRS is, having already spawned an OVA, game, and an overwhelming amount of merchandise, this was only inevitable. The series will begin airing in January 2012, but what’s surprising is that it will be broadcast on Fuji TV’s noitaminA timeslot. The growth of Black Rock Shooter as a franchise should be an inspiration to any artist hoping to make it big. It started out as an original character design by the artist huke, and it was later used as the basis for a song by the group Supercell. That led to several music videos and Black Rock Shooter eventually ended up with its own anime, produced by the studio Ordet.
