First shown off at CES a few weeks ago, the Hot Wheels Video Racer is every little boy’s dream come true. Who hasn’t played with toy cars and dreamed of taking video of it in-motion, from the perspective of the driver? The Video Racer has its own little camera inside, pointing straight forward where the car’s grill usually is. Press record, and the Racer will record up to 12 minutes of video. Flip the Racer over, and you’ll find a mini LCD screen on the car’s undercarriage. You can play back your clips instantly on the Racer’s screen, or download your video to your PC or Mac to save them. Avatar Kinect Unveiled
Man, I hate watching Microsoft keynote addresses. Microsoft always tries so hard to be cool, to capture that ineffable “it” quality that Apple exudes so effortlessly. This one included a demonstration of Windows Phone 7 by a woman who had had way too many energy drinks. But I digress. Microsoft just opened the annual Consumer Electronics Show by showing off some of their big new stuff that’s on the way (Surface 2.0 looks sweet), and among those words were some announcements for Xbox users. Airnergy is actually a system, Read more »

It’s Consumer Electronics Show time again, folks, which means many tech people camp out in Las Vegas to see what the big (and not so big) players in the world of consumer electronics have to offer for the coming year. Not all of it’s brand new, but CES is a great place to showcase it. There are geekier conventions, of course, but what would it be if Forever Geek didn’t give a decent nod Vegas way and showcase some of this year’s highlights. The show is still rolling as we speak, so we may not have captured all the best bits yet. Still, let’s take a look at what’s hot Read more »

For those of you keeping up with the latest display technology, here’s one from Toshiba: Cell TV. The fact is, manufacturers have crammed so many intensive functions into today’s televisions that high-end processors are a must. Gone are the days of a CRT blindly pushing out a picture one line at a time ad infinitum. These days, every pixel can be controlled on-the-fly to ensure the best picture is produced on our favourite LCD or plasma set. Now, Cell TV is designed for the high-end TV market, boasting some 143 times more processing power than available in current TV models. It fits with an improved display panel with a Direct Read more »
