Who would have known? Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams was named after the comedian’s favorite princess. The 30 second commercial in lieu of Father’s Day speaks loads of the relationship the father-daughter pair have when it comes to video games.

Ad on top. Interview at the bottom. When Robin Williams and his wife were pregnant, they spent countless hours playing The Legend of Zelda for the NES. They loved the name and christened their daughter with it.

How can one not want to see a commercial that features a kid with Star Wars music in the background? In this commercial, you will see a teeny weeny Darth Vader trying to use the Force – unsuccessfully, of course. The dog just ignores him. The doll sits lifeless, as it is supposed to. He can’t even muster enough of the Force to gulp a sandwich down while keeping his headpiece on.

Enter the Volkswagen Passat – literally. I won’t be a party pooper and tell you what happens, but it really is a no brainer. Here’s the video to keep you distracted from the mundaneness of your life for a minute.

You have to admit it – if you break the ad down and try to be logical about it, the whole thing is kind of silly. Then again, ads are meant to be silly, aren’t they? Come on now, how can you NOT like a mini Darth Vader? I am sure we all have tried to use the Force at least once – and I am not talking about the time when we were but kids. ;)

Well according to Adidas latest commercial there are a lot of geeks into soccer. The video Star Wars Cantina 2010 features Han Solo, C-3PO and R2-D2 among Star Wars characters and some more present day guests like David Beckham, Daft Punk and Snoop Dogg to name a few. They are all in some bar for a world cup match viewing party when things get a bit out of hand.

Star Wars fans are sure to appreciate this remix commercial, I found it very clever done. And Beckham is not the first player not attending the World Cup that I have seen in a recent commercial. Seems like some of them are making some nice cash from an unfortunate situation. Ruud van Nistelrooy the Dutch striker has been passed over for the team selection but L’oreal still thinks he’s the right man for their current commercial.
