Lightspeed i-Helicopter

The Lightspeed i-Helicopter is a cutting-edge new gadget/toy that you control via a free app called Copter Controller, in conjunction with an included IR transmitter. Apparently, The Beatles once were interested to be part of an LotR production. According to John at Super Punch, this is what happened:

Once upon a time, The Beatles were interested in starring in a live-action version of The Lord of the Rings with Paul McCartney as Frodo Baggins, Ringo Starr as Sam Gamgee, George Harrison as Gandalf, and John Lennon as Gollum. They asked Stanley Kubrick to direct, but he declined (according to Wikipedia), or Tolkien killed the idea (according to Peter Jackson).

Building on the idea, John (the blogger, not the dead Beatle) decided to hold the contest, and here are some of the more eye catching entries.

The iconic album cover takes on a totally new look.  I think that the bystander should have been included, though.

Now I am not sure what to think of this one.  What’s your verdict?

Compared to the first two, this drawing is way simple, but it does catch your eye, doesn’t it?  Moreover, you’ll find the song playing in your head over and over again.

I already had my rant about the LG wrist wratch phone, but this concept design of a wrist wratch Bluetooth phone (Try saying that 10 times without stuttering!), I must admit looks cool.

Designer Pedro Gomez calls it _technically_ a bracelet with watch and phone. When someone calls, the bracelet rings and/or vibrates. The entire face pops out as a wireless headset without sacrificing a screen since there’s a secondary LCD. Both LCDs are touch enabled.

Cell Phones.org is hosting a blogger appreciation contest and the winner will have her/his phone bill covered for one year.
The contest will reward three bloggers:

First Prize: a full year’s worth of your cell phone bill (up to $1000)
Second Prize: free cell phone (does not include plan)
Third Prize: $100 gift certificate to use at Cell Phones .org

This year, I was able to buy a laptop, two netbooks, a Nokia E series phone, a printer/scanner/copier, a pre-owned Mac Mini, an LCD screen, two Canon EF lenses, a Canon speedlite, and a host of other smaller gadgets. Non-computer acquisitions include a front-load washer that has made our lives 100% easier in terms of household chores and an air conditioning unit for my home office (at last!). And lucky me–Sony Ericsson gave me a free Xperia X1 for review just recently. I hope I didn’t miss anything.
