Heidi Klum Anatomy Costume

So Halloween is over and done with, and I have read/heard a handful of people breathe a sigh of relief because of this. For those of you who cannot get enough of Halloween, though, here is one last post for this year. I don’t know about you, but I get a kick out of seeing photos of awesome Halloween costumes/makeup. The creativity and patience of these people deserve to be hailed and documented, don’t you think? Game of Thrones Costumes With Game of Thrones being the most popular fantasy series these days, it was inevitable that people would go as one of the many characters in the story. Over at Read more »

Zombie Storm Trooper, anyone?

Tis the season to be someone else. With Halloween upon us, ForeverGeek wants to hear about your personal costuming plans! Are you dressing up? Are you going with off-the-rack, or designing something from scratch? Will you gore it up by zombifying yourself? (It’s what all the cool kids are doing!) Halloween Costume Idea: QR Code Costume

QR Code Costume

Halloween is drawing rather near, and for those of you who celebrate this holiday in a big way, your costume is probably already on your mind. If you are still looking at options, here is one thing that can be a source of inspiration: a QR code costume. Sure, QR codes are nothing new. You see them more and more every day. You even see QR code tattoos! This guy did a bit of work to get his QR code costume done, though, and it seems but right to give him a bit of attention. As you will see when you scroll down, this QR code costume is very simple, Read more »

Real Life Iron Man Goes to Work

Real Life Iron Man Goes to Work

If being Iron Man can be based on looks alone, then this guy could very well be the real Iron Man. Geek and DIY cred goes to Wang XiaoKang, a 15-year-old employee of ZTE. If you have a USB broadband dongle, then you might be familiar with this Chinese company as they are the second largest China-based telecommunications equipment manufacturer. Employee of a technology company or not, Wang XiaoKang deserves two thumbs up for his work. Heck, I’d give him three thumbs if I had three! He built this armor within 3 months and spent 3,000 yuan – that’s about USD460. When he started his project – for the sheer Read more »

Dude Made a Master Chief Costume Out of LEGO

Dude Made a Master Chief Costume Out of LEGO

It takes a LEGO builder of special caliber to build something of their own design that’s recognizable to others. Now imagine compounding that challenge by trying to make something out of LEGO that you can actually wear. By its very nature, LEGO is far too fragile to be worn. It’s not meant for building clothes; basic human movement is more than enough to cause the bricks to come apart and shatter on the floor. I’m not sure how teenage master builder Ben Caulkins managed to avoid this — if he glued the pieces together or what. But cleverly using Technic pieces for the framework, he modeled his costume pieces to Read more »

TRON LEGACY Suits: Am Lovin’ All the Leather

TRON LEGACY Suits: Am Lovin’ All the Leather

The original Tron movie has been sitting idle in my hard drive for the longest time, and I really do have to watch it before the new movie comes out.  While I wait for the chance to sit down and focus on that movie, I shall content myself with drooling at these new suits from Universal Designs.  With a tagline “Welcome to a World Where Leather Rules,” you really can’t go wrong, can you? They are now selling leather motorcycle suits – for both men and women – that I think are pretty cool.  The next time you have a costume party (Halloween’s coming up!), you just might win costume Read more »

150+ Comic-Con Costumes from Twitter

Scarecrow from the 'Batman: Arkham Asylum' video game

Ah, Comic-Con. That time of the year when freaks, geeks, and the downright inexplicable annually migrate to San Diego to pay tribute to the almighty Pop Culture. For many of them, their love is so great that they’re compelled to dress up in elaborate outfits and costumes — most of which are homemade. I grabbed over 150 of the best costumes, as seen on Twitpic, Yfrog, and other Twitter-related photo streams, and have compiled them into a gallery that’s turned out kind of like peopleofwalmart.com for the geek set. With huge thanks to all of the Comic-Con Twitterers out there, here goes… Read more »

Buy Your Capes Online

Buy Your Capes Online

I grew up outside of Boston, Mass, and when I was little, we lived in this two-story house off of Pleasant Street. It wasn’t much, but it did have a cool patio on the second story, which was pretty neat to me at the time. I was pretty young when we lived in that house, and I was a huge fan of comic books. So my mother decided to get me these Underoos with Superman, Batman and Spider-Man on them. I’ve told this story before, but the end result was that I loved superheroes, and I’ve always wanted to become one. I caught this on Twitter today, and I’ve spent Read more »
