The X-Men have been separatists since the Civil War, even operating alone during the Secret Invasion. If the Heroic Age is upon us, then it is only right they get a little more involved. The last time such a thing occurred (other than major events like House Of M or even as far back as the Bloodties crossover with the Avengers) was the original Secret Wars. They sure could use the good PR.
