Members can now get access to three lossless music download file formats – Apple Lossless, 16-bit FLAC and now 24-bit FLAC.

Membership is £23.95 for six months or £33.95 per year, and for that you get to download an album every month, recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios.

This isn’t iTunes or any other mass-download music site, so it probably isn’t for everyone, but it does offer a range of alternative music for those who like to branch out a little.

In the first year, artists who have recorded albums or tracks have included Gwyneth Herbert, Dub Colossus, former Suede frontman Brett Anderson, guitarist Tom Kerstens, Mercury Award nominees Portico Quartet and Eurythmics star Dave Stewart.

Future releases include the new album from Dengue Fever, a band that blends Cambodian pop music with West Coast psychedelic rock.

We all know that Amazon’s got downloadable and/or streamed online music and videos on sale, but what we probably missed is knowing that they’ve got video games too. The service is called Amazon Games downloads and right now it has over 600+ video game titles and each for less than US$10! Great eh? Makes me wonder if Yahoo will follow suit by lowering their Yahoo Games… really, at an average of US$29.99, too expensive games Yahoo.

Amazon Games Downloads allows you to download the full versions, play it for thirty minutes then decide if you want to keep it. This is nice. I think I can just about know if a game would put me to sleep or awake.
