So how do you make the Modern Warfare 3 Frag Grenade Shot? You’ll see how to make these precisely in the video below, but just in case you get too caught up in watching that beautiful lady, here are the recipes. You need three mixes:

1/2oz Green Creme de Menthe
1/2oz Limoncello

1/2oz Baileys

Half fill with Energy Drink

I don’t know about you, but the ingredients used are rather tempting. And with the name Modern Warfare 3 Frag Grenade Shot, this will be a sure hit at any party with gamers in attendance, don’t you think?

Alien Brain Hemorrhage Cocktail

Doesn’t that look like a disgusting thing? It’s so disgusting it becomes good! And actually, if you think about it, the Alien Brain Hemorrhage Cocktail seems rather complicated to make. That is, if you base it on the looks of the drink. (Then again, I am no bartender, so I really have no idea.)

The nice surprise is that it seems that anyone – maybe even I – can make a shot of Alien Brain Hemorrhage Cocktail! According to Latin Rapper, all that you need to do to make the Alien Brain Hemorrhage Cocktail is to get together some peach schnapps, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Blue Curacao, and Grenadine Syrup. Of course, you need a shot glass.

First you pour some peach schnapps into the shot glass – about halfway full. You then take the Bailey’s and gently pour it over the peach schnapps. Just before the glass gets totally full, add some Blue Curacao to the mix. The last touch is to add a few drops of Grenadine Syrup. The result? Something that you might actually believe is an alien’s brain hemorrhaging!

Apparently, the Alien Brain Hemorrhage Cocktail is from Scotland (I guess they have some alien specimens there), and here is a video which can show you how it is made. Be warned: offensive language is used.

Simply named Duke Nukem Forever Cocktail, the drink does seem to hold a lot of promise. If anything, it is the perfect drink to celebrate the release of the game. So what do you need? The Drunken Moogle gives you all the information that you need.

Grab these and make sure you’ve got enough for everyone:
1 glass Mello Yellow
1 shot vodka
1 splash spiced rum
1 splash moonshine (or any other high proof liquor)

How to make the drink:
Mix the first three ingredients and pour into a glass. Float your moonshine on top (we used moonshine because it’s the closest thing to, you know, nuclear waste or gasoline. You can buy “moonshine” from most liquor stores, but any high proof alcohol will do). Nuke that ‘splody barrel and ignite the moonshine. Enjoy the flames, then extinguish and serve.

Even if it’s your personal rule not to mix, this ought to be a good reason to break the rule – that barrel is too cool to pass up on!

The guys at io9 have the perfect solution for situations like the one described above – drinking games based on notable sci-fi themes. Just like them, I am going to say outright that I am not promoting irresponsible drinking. ;)

Remember guys, it’s not all about the alcohol – it’s the theme behind the game. So here are my top picks from their list.

Tron Loko

How to play? Simple instructions from the article:

For three or more players. Pop in a copy of Tron or Tron Legacy. Players must drink Four Loko (or Joose or Mad Dog 20/20 or Cisco or whatever neon-hued alcopop doesn’t make you retch) whenever a character…

1.) Derezzes.
2.) Boards some form of vehicular transport.
3.) Volleys back a disc.
4.) Drinks some digital liquid at The End of Line Club (Tron Legacy only).

If you don’t drink alcopop, make your own brightly colored drink. I choose strawberry or blue margaritas! (This might mean taking a only couple of sips each time instead of downing the entire glass, though.)

Hello, Sarah Connor?

This game is only for those who are feeling really silly and are willing to take the risk of getting in trouble. It is highly recommended that you play this game only if you are already buzzed. Or maybe you shouldn’t play it at all. Instructions:

For three or more players. Every player starts with a beer. Open the yellow pages and call each and every John Connor, Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese, Edward Furlong, or Marcus Wright on speakerphone while speaking in a Styrian accent. Keep them on the line while reading verbatim from a 1991 Radio Shack catalogue. For every 20 seconds you keep them on the line, do not drink 1/4 of your beer.

I understand that you might not have a 1991 Radio Shack catalogue lying around, but I am sure you can find a good enough alternative. Now I have a feeling that customer service agents or outbound sales agents will trump everyone else in this game!

Are you a Cylon?

Hands down the winner in the list. To play the game, you must first know how to play Handshake/Wink Murder. Introducing the Cylon element just makes it all the more interesting:

For 6 or more players. This is more or less a standard game of handshake murder but with several exceptions.

First off, everyone carries a coffee mug full of their favorite hooch, Saul Tigh-style. Second, whenever you “die,” you must pound whatever’s in your cup. Finally, if you have slept with the person who’s revealed to be “the Cylon,” you must slug another cup.

More than playing Cylons, the fact that you can have whatever drink you prefer makes this the perfect party game.

Anyone up for some drinks this weekend?

Do you drink energy drinks? I’ve been known to down a Red Bull when there’s a big deadline looming. I find I actually like the taste of it, but my wife thinks it’s nasty. (It’s a trade-off; she loves coffee and I can’t stand it.)

Now geeks have an energy drink made just for us. It’s not marketed that way or even designated as such on the can. But it doesn’t matter, because the title makes it perfectly clear:

Romulan Ale Energy Drink.

As every good Star Trek fan knows, Romulan Ale is illegal within the Federation, though it’s allowed for “medicinal purposes.” Romulan Ale Energy Drink, however, will give you a boost instead of a buzz. Boston America, the company that manufactures the energy drink, makes similar licensed energy drinks themed around The Simpsons‘ “Duff Beer,” Ghostbusters “Ectoplasm,” Pac-Man “Power-Up,” Gears of War “Imulsion,” and even Elvis Presley’s “All Shook Up.”

Citizens of Margaritaville, it is your day today! February 22 has been deemed as National Margarita Day, and you can celebrate with all the margaritas that you can drink.

Margarita is the most popular tequila-based cocktail in the United States today, and I would not be surprised if the same can be said in other countries. If you don’t already know, a classic margarita is made with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. The difference lies in the proportions of the ingredients, and some bartenders will add their own twists to the drink.

Have you ever wondered who invented this drink? According to legend, in 1948, Margarita Sames was hosting a party at her hacienda in Acapulco and decided to experiment with Tequila Herradura, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice. The rest, as they say, is history.

So how can you pay homage to this refreshing drink that has gotten many a party going? Aside from mixing your own margaritas, you can also try making margarita dishes (here are some cool margarita recipes). You can also watch this video which teaches you how to make the classic drink in really easy steps.

Alternatively, why not visit a Margaritaville location near you? Jimmy Buffet’s locations are sure to be crowded later tonight, but you will definitely not miss out on the fun. If you’re fortunate enough to have been named Margarita or Rita, you even get free drinks! (If you show a valid ID, of course.)

All this reading and writing about drinks is making me thirsty, and unsurprisingly, I found myself searching for cool infographics on drinks. I found some cool graphics created by Fabio Rex, and of course, there is one about the perfect margarita.

In case I have gotten you all thirsty before noon on a Tuesday, just remember that it’s five o’clock somewhere! ;)

Now here is something that will give you a whole new perspective on the phrase bottoms up. If you’ve ever found yourself waiting for ages for your beer – whether it takes the bartender forever to open that bottle or to fill up your mug – then you might want your favorite hangout to get one of these contraptions. The idea is simple: fill the glasses from the bottom and get rid of the long wait.

I don’t think that the video is in fast forward, so the speed with which the glasses are filled up is probably for real. What is really cool is how the server gets the beer into those glasses.

Cups with holes that are resealable at the bottom + a machine that injects the beer at a very fast rate = Lots of beer filled up in a short amount of time. Pretty neat to watch, isn’t it?

Now who wants to give explanations as to how the machine really works?

Before you scoff at my suggestion, try reading through the end of this post to see some of the most amazing images of drinks that you can find at any bar. Whiskey, scotch, champagne, Bloody Mary, Pina Colada – these drinks are easily recognizable when served in a glass. You might have a difficult time pinpointing which is which if you take a look at BevShots’ artwork, though. BevShots is a company that has fun taking drops of your favorite drink, placing them under a microscope, and then taking photos of them. The result? Psychedelic images that pass for modern art.

I am not an art expert, but I do know that any of the pieces featured in their web site will be a great conversation piece. Not only do the images incite comments, but the whole idea behind their creation will certainly inspire interesting conversation. Take a look at this short promotional video clip to find out more.

If you share the same sentiments about alcoholic drinks AND if you’re a Star Trek fan, here is a bunch of drinks that will definitely not leave you wanting.  Then again, you just might want to keep on drinking, if only to sustain the whatever illusion you may be under (e.g., that you are actually interacting with species other than our own). 

I found this awesome list at Geekologie, and while it is admittedly more than a year old, the drinks can be considered timeless.  If you’re planning a party any time soon (Halloween is coming up, but you don’t really need to wait that long, do you?), you can kick things up a notch by making these drinks.  I chose several that I think will be the best hits. (Remember: drink moderately.  After all, “once alcohol hits that green blood…”)

Who hasn’t dreamed of carrying around a phaser and exclaiming “Phasers on stun”?  I don’t know about you, but whiskey is good any time!

No Star Trek-themed party will be complete without The Enterprise making an appearance at some point.  Once again, whiskey FTW!

I haven’t had gin in any form or mixture since I had a bad experience with it in college, but hey, Spock’s Mind Meld Mojito?  How can anyone say no to that?

Now I am no expert when it comes to cocktails, but these look simple enough.  Anyone want to drink this weekend?

Not only does it serve a dual purpose (not at the same time, obviously) but it looks pretty good too.

The bottom hotplate takes care of tea, coffee and other drinks you want to stay hot by maintaining them at a constant temperature.

If you want it cold, the top section contains an impeller and motor for pushing out cold air.

To make it really obvious which function is being performed, the LEDs in the top section turn either red (for heating) or blue (for cooling).

The only problems are that this is currently a concept from designer Dmitriy Shcherbakov, and that it will only handle one cup at a time. A dual unit would be great, though I wouldn’t mind having a couple of these sitting next to each other on my work surface. Maybe they could even start communicating with each other via Bluetooth?

I found the shot carver at Cool Stuff Express, and while it does not really involve electronics of any kind, I think that it would at least serve as a conversation piece when you entertain at home. So what does it do?

Think apple corer. In truth, it is not that much different from your conventional apple corer. What the shot carver does is create a hole in a fruit (apple, pear, name it!) which can then serve as your shot glass! Pretty nifty, huh?

Imagine this. You have 10 or more people coming over. You have to prepare all sorts of glasses and drinking stuff for the night. You have to clean up the house, decorate a little bit, and make sure that nothing stinks. At the end of the night, you’d have to do all the cleaning up yourself! With the shot carver, you do not have to waste time washing and cleaning your shot glasses. Just get dozens of fruit, insert the gadget, twist, pull it out, and voila, you have a disposable shot glass! Not only do you have something functional, you can entertain in style as well.

The best part -  it’s only $11.99!

I had a problem, though. I didn’t have any cold drinks on hand. Well, I had a bottle of Malibu Rum in the fridge, some water, and a big Coke bottle. I did have cans of beer and more soda but they were as warm as piss. I could have run over to the store to get ice but hey, I already said I didn’t want to go out, right?

As it turned out, we were able to put the cans in the freezer and made do with what we had for a while. All’s well that ends well, BUT now that I have discovered this ultra fast chiller, I wish I had it last night!

Dubbed the Cooper Chiller, this baby can chill a can in 60 seconds flat. All you need to do is place some ice and water (oh shoot you still need ice!) in the compartment, pop a can in, and you’ll have a cool drink in a minute. It is a bit pricey at $60, but I think that it is a very handy thing to have, don’t you?
