Smileys or emoticons – whatever you want to call them, they have proliferated everyday communication the world over. From text lingo to chat lingo to e-mail – emoticons are the rave these days. Perhaps because they transcend language barriers, emoticons are use by practically everyone. Then again, there are those who have had enough of these “cute” little things. I can name a LOT of people who would call you out for using emoticons in your e-mails. When Gmail Goes Down…
Yesterday, I had a meeting for about an hour so I was not able to check my personal Gmail for a bit. Neither was I constantly checking my work mail, which is based on Google Apps as well. That is why when I went back to my desk, I was quite surprised to see people lounging around just chatting, some looked kind of panicky and irritated at the same time. So what was happening?
