Almost every day something new and geeky finds its way to an Etsy store and often it’s difficult to keep up with all new awesome items on Etsy – or we think they’re cool but just not cool enough.

This time though, user SceeneShoes caught my attention with a serious of handmade bras aimed at old-skool gamers and 8bit nostalgics. SceeneShoes has more 8bit items in store for Mario and Pokémon fans.

If bras aren’t really your thing, you can also settle for a pair of hand-painted Mario and Luigi shoes.

All bras are hand-painted with acrylic and start at $ 30.00. Due to popularity new orders will take at least 2 weeks.

If you have a penchant for washing your hands, and you have an appreciation for all things microbiological, then CleanerScience’s Etsy shop will be a treat for you. This shop’s tagline “…Making Science a Little Cleaner” is the perfect description of the soaps on sale. This shop specializes in soaps in Petri Dishes, with each soap representing a bacteria culture. The idea is very simple but brilliant, and the soaps are actually very cool to look at! For those concerned with the safety of the items, you will be happy to note that the soaps are made with a naturall hypo-allergenic coconut oil base. Different soaps have different scents, but you can also request for unscented ones.

The person behind the soaps is Sara Jezierski, who says that she had the idea for the soaps after she took a class in immunology. Indeed, the idea of using “bacteria” soap to wash off real bacteria has something to it. From the infamous E. coli to red blood cells (yeah, they’re not bacteria, but they’re still cool) – you can find the perfect soap to match your mood (or health problem). I have no problems in gathering enough motivation to wash my hands – it’s the opposite, in fact – but if you need something to entice people to use soap and wash their hands, these will certainly do the trick.

If you order, you will get a tag with each soap, which starts with “This petri dish soap is designed to look exactly like what you’re trying to wash off: bacteria! This particular soap is modeled after [bacteria name]…”

Getting married anytime soon?  If I can’t change your mind about that, how about just checking out this really cool store on Etsy?   The store is manned by a husband and wife team who actually came up with the idea of using comic book covers as a theme for their own wedding invitations back in 2007.

The idea of having a “unique” theme for one’s wedding is not all that unique anymore these days.  Just earlier this year, I heard about a friend of a friend of a friend whose wedding was Star Wars themed.  Everyone – from bride and groom to guests – had to come donning their best Star Wars costume.  Just do a search on Google, and you’ll find countless other weddings that have gone the “unique” theme route. 

Now I have no idea how the invites look for these kinds of weddings, but this comic book cover idea is something I wouldn’t mind adopting. It doesn’t even have to be for a wedding.  Heck, you can throw a party just to have an excuse to give out these invites!  Then again, you might not want to spend $225 just for “regular” party invites.

The artwork is pretty good, and all you need to do is provide the artist with photos of you and your partner. He’ll then draw unique comic book representations of you.  His guarantee? “I’ll make sure you look as though a cover was drawn by one of the top comic book artists from the 1960s to celebrate your big day. I don’t just trace the photos, but rather come up with a comic style interpretation that should still be easily recognized as you.”  Pretty huge statement, don’t you think? (The sample really does look good, though.)

For the price mentioned above, you’ll get the original artwork (11×17; black and white) plus digital copies (full color).  As for the actual invites, you’ll have to have them printed out yourself – definitely a drawback since the price is already a bit hefty in my opinion.

That doesn’t change the fact that the whole concept is awesome in my book.  I think that, maybe, for my 30th birthday (yeah, my brain gets all fuzzy when it comes to numbers sometimes), I just might splurge and go for this idea.  (Flip a coin to choose between Hit-Girl and Iron Man!) I was doing my Etsy rounds earlier and I stumbled upon this shop called Coolbeans717. this shop focuses on cases made of felt. It features cases for various gadgets like the iPhone, iPod (various models), and the Zune. There are around 40 or so cases on offer in the shop, but here are the ones that I think might interest you.

As you can see, it looks just like that good old Spam – who doesn’t like Spam? At the back of the case, you can make use of the pocket for headphones and other small items that you like to bring around with you. This case can fit iPhones, the iPod Classic, and the iTouch.
