Batman Day 2015 is happening this year according to DC. The chosen date is September 26, 2015 (just to be clear, since we’ve been previously nicely reminded that other parts of the world write dates differently).
This year, DC “had to” cave in to the demands of fans and celebrate Batman Day 2015. Here’s a snippet of the press release:
Back By Popular Demand, BATMAN DAY 2015 Makes the Celebration of The World’s Most Popular Super Hero and Global Pop Culture Icon an Annual Event
DC Entertainment is bringing back the fan-favorite event celebrating The Dark Knight. “Batman Day” is back by popular demand and will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015, kicking off what has become an annual event honoring one of the most popular and iconic Super Heroes and celebrating all things Batman from comics to video games and more. Fans everywhere are invited to partake in festivities with thousands of comic book shops, bookstores, schools, libraries and other retail partners participating in the bat-centric event.
This is most certainly not
milking it a way to make more money for DC, but it’s simple a way to make Batman fans happier.
What can you do aside from dressing up as Batman, going around your neighborhood saying “I’m Batman” just like in the LEGO movie, and throwing batarangs (dull ones), saying “First try…”?
Select stores, libraries, and bookstores will have special events, with the chance to meet the likes of – don’t drool now – Jim Lee, Grant Morrison, Scott Snyder, David Finch, Brian Azzarello, Cameron Stewart, Pat Gleason, Dustin Nguyen, Tim Seeley, Tom King, Dan Jurgens, Jeff Parker, Matthew Manning, and Daniel Wallace. Stay tuned for more details here.
