The Geek Guide to American Football

Football Flowchart

It’s officially called “The Non-American’s Guide to American Football”, but I think my title will do just as well. The Geek Guide to American Football. It sounds good, and after all, there might be one or two of you who have found themselves in the position that Leonard of The Big Bang Theoryfound himself many seasons ago. Remember that scene where he had his nose buried in a football for dummies book? Suddenly Sheldon jumps in with his football knowledge. You do not have to admit it publicly if you don’t know anything about American football. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I honestly don’t know much except for Read more »

Flowchart for NPR’s Best Fantasy and Science Fiction Books

Flowchart for NPR's Fantasy and Sci-Fi Book List

Remember the list that NPR published earlier this year? Titled “Your Picks: Top 100 Science-Fiction, Fantasy Books“, the list has caught the attention of every science fiction and fantasy enthusiast in the planet. And then some. If memory serves me correctly, there was even a question (or poll) going around on Facebook asking people to indicate how many of the books they have read. Or maybe that was another list. In any case, NPR’s best fantasy and science fiction books list is quite impressive, and I have to admit that I have a long way to go – both in terms of science fiction and fantasy. I do, however, recognize Read more »

Game of Thrones Flowchart: Would You Survive in the Seven Kingdoms?

Game of Thrones Flowchart: Would You Survive in the Seven Kingdoms?

The characters all die. Would you make it if you got dumped in the middle of the Seven Kingdoms? Don’t get me wrong – I love this series, but I have never denied the fact that every reading makes me depressed because all the “good” ones die. Even the “bad” ones with “good” sides die. They all die. Still, I think it’s merely a representation of real life – sooner or later we’ll all die, albeit not in such dramatic or grisly ways as George R.R. Martin’s characters do. Anyhow, the season finale of HBO’s Game of Thrones is this weekend. Can you believe that? I need to catch up Read more »

Alternative Therapy Flowchart

Alternative Therapy Flowchart

Feeling stressed?  Have an aversion to doctors? (Whether it’s healthy or not, I totally get it.)  Lucky you – there is a plethora of alternative therapies/treatments that you can take a look into.  I don’t know about you, but I have tried a couple of alternative therapies, and boy, they can feel good!  I came across a funny flowchart at Science, Reason and Critical Thinking – I think some of you will find some use out of it. Whether or not you wish to take this seriously, it is up to you, but I simply couldn’t pass up on the chance to share this flowchart.  Who does not like flowcharts, Read more »

Tattoo Decision Flowchart

Tattoo Decision Flowchart

The taboo around tattoos has diminished a lot the last past decade. It’s not looked down any more if you have one or two nice tattoos on a discreet place on your body. Now it’s a question of getting a tasteful tattoo somewhere not on your face or head rather then not getting one at all. A year ago I got my first tattoo after thinking about it a year long, I wanted something really meaningful and be sure it wasn’t something I would regret later. I decided on a poem which I wanted on my shoulder, but at the ink shop I decided why put it somewhere where I Read more »

Should you buy an iPad?

Should you buy an iPad?

Apple is already accepting iPad pre orders and the expected sales are higher than when the iPhone was newly released. If you are still doubting about buying an iPad BBspot has a helpful flowchart to help you decide. Way funny, I especially like the “Like to touch things?” question, it so is an iPhone and now iPad thing considering it’s touch screen only. Someone should also come with a flowchart focused on questions like: “Do you like flashy animations?”, “Yes”, “Buy a HP Slate”, “No” “Buy an iPad”. And for multitasking, 3G or WiFi , etc. This fun flowchart sure made me think about which target group will be buying Read more »

A simple lesson in using Comic Sans font

A simple lesson in using Comic Sans font

For anyone wanting to know what best practise for using Comic Sans in documents is, the following flowchart should really help. Also works for PowerPoint presentations, billboard advertising — anything, really. It would have been more effective had the flowchart been constructed with a Comic Sans font, of course. Preferably in bold. ;) Via Read more »
