What is the deal with these Gears of War trailers and all the weepy, mopey music? Who’s idea was this? The song in question in this new trailer is “Into Dust” by alt/rock band Mazzy Star, which Epic Games used to craft the latest — and likely final — trailer for Gears of War 3, which they’ve dubbed “Dust to Dust.” Read more »

Gears of War Ends This Fall

Gears of War 3 marks the conclusion of the blockbuster video game trilogy, but exactly when it would arrive has been a source of much debate among players. Today Epic Games revealed to the world that the finale would arrive on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 for Xbox 360. By the way Gearheads, I wouldn’t fret over the trilogy ending. Gears of War 3 Teaser Coming April 3rd

I’m not a huge FPS guy. I’ve never really gotten into Halo, and although I loved Call of Duty 2, I’ve never played it on multiplayer. It’s just not my bag. But the series that I do love is Gears of War. The first time I played the single player campaign I stayed up all night trying to advance level after level until a few days later when I woke up from a Red Bull haze to see the final screen.
