Geeks and fashion? Gone are the days when the reasonable people did not care about what to wear. Instead, today, we hear about hipsters, geek chic, geek fashion, and so on. (Or, how “geek chic” has somehow become mainstream.) Geeks are, by definition, an obsessive lot, seizing onto one or more hobbies, television shows, movies, etc. with a frightening passion. If you’re reading this blog, chances are you have at least one geek obsession. In fact, I’d wager you have several. Geeks of old were the opposite of socially conscious; pocket protectors & calculator watches were the name of the game no matter how many Revenge of the Nerds movies they spawned. “When it comes to eyeglasses, it’s cool to look like a nerd.” What say you? I have had to wear glasses since I was in third grade, so I don’t really know about glasses looking cool. A few months ago I already went into the subject of headphones as fashion item. When I saw the newest headphones born from a collaboration between Skullcandy and Roc Nation I was immediately sold, just by looking at the couple of photos available. The Roc Nation Aviator headphone is clearly retro inspired and totally drool worthy. Amagawd! Every geek HAS to have PajamaJeans, I swear to the geek gods! It’s a must to enhance the lazy geek experience. Admit it, you guys have your slug days and moments, too.
