With 3D television being the next must have in the near future, 3D glasses are a must also. More and more movies are being made in 3D with the most recent being “Avatar”. I was glad the 3D glasses I got at the movies where still in a sealed plastic bag. But most times moviegoers get glasses worn by several people before them, not very hygienic.

Now you can buy your own 3D glasses that also function as sunglasses. The maker of these 3D glasses, MicroVision Optical, says that they will also be providing 3D prescription glasses. Also a huge plus next to having a choice in frames, I saw “Avatar” wearing the 3D glasses over my own prescription glasses. A bit unhandy at times when wanting to re-adjust my own glasses.

If you where wondering if sunglasses are suited for indoors 3D movies; Most 3D movies require polarized 3D glasses . MicroVision Optical made good use of this fact hence the sunglasses and 3D in one with FDA approved UV filters. Being that these are premium made 3D glasses the viewing experience of 3D movies should be better then with the loan/one time use glasses you get at the the movies.

3D glasses seems to be the next thing everyone will own in the future. When having a movie night in a couple of years you will have to tell your guest to remember to bring along their 3D glasses or not because you have one for everyone.

Is this line familiar? I saw a note on Facebook this week that ran along these lines. Apparently, it has been going around and naturally, those of us who were tiny tots in the 80s found it hilarious. One of the things that I remember from my childhood is the ultimate sunglasses for men (though my peers were but boys, they loved this idea to death). While I have not come across the real deal as of yet, here is a good enough substitute: spy camera sunglasses.

Our friends over at ThinkGeek features this pair, which is capable of taking 1.3 megapixel pictures, with a resolution of 1280 x 1024). Just put the sunglasses on, face whatever you want to capture on film (or digital storage in this case), and use the tiny remote control to take your shots. The inclusion of the RF is perfect as you won’t have a hard time clicking stealthily to get your shot.

The frame is made of lightweight material, which is of high quality of course. The lenses are made of UV400 polarized material, making sure that your eyes are well protected from the sun’s harmful rays. As for the battery, the glasses have a lithium-ion power source, which can last for up to 9 hours.

And just how about much storage does the pair give you? You can choose from either 1 GB or 4 GB. You can transfer the data from the glasses to your PC using a mini-USB cable, which also recharges the battery.

I want me one of these!
